-
so let me get this straight, Bungie Favorites isn't made by bungie anymore. ok wow that makes perfect sense, doesnt come off as lazy or anything
-
Just the thought of actually being able to play on a multiplayer map wtih *some* kind of flood activity going on...that was my hope for uhh...Isolation, but didn't quite pan out. Ehh...it's probably just hype to get us excited about the new map. Still kinda cool though :)

Alex Pfeiffer we'll be looking forward to what you can do as Mission Designer. I have faith in you, dont let me or anyone else down. :D LOL .4% Decrease in BR starts in Ghost town, Standoff, and Foundry. I knew it wasnt going to be drastic like everyone else was thinking. Thanks again. Took me awhile to fine "Discuss." You guys knew it would too. We had to look for it. :) I feel like it'll show you serious comments than bull-blam- comments people post. Such as being "Fisrt!" or something similar like that. Anyways good update. One more thing, The Smuggler. Is this a hint to a new video game your brewing up ;)?

Sweet!!!

the pink one is correct, i've seen the place he-who-hates-frankie (you must not speak his name, or his demons will find you!!) will go, and it needs some redecorating. Smuggler is the third map in the new map pack bungie is cooking up. see last week's update. btw that message on the bottom of the newest update says Penitent Tangent hasn't been on active duty for almost 300 years since the message was given: "Still waiting for primary maintenance and security detail. [2512332 hours, 14 minutes, 6 seconds]elapsed since initial request." 2512332 hours / 24 hours = 104680.5 days / 365.25 days = 286.6 years!!! [Edited on 05.31.2008 8:03 AM PDT]
Posted by: YKantBobReed I have been fairly vocal about this issue in the past, and for some time thought that the most recent update would do something for me, but then it came out, didn't do anything, and so for a time I resigned to the idea that I would never have helmet that I want. Now I have re-committed myself to the... commitment... that I made this one time. Anyway, I have no achievement for "Basic training" despite the fact that I have the "Graduate" pin (which doesn't mean that I had an affair with a married woman, or that I had a fantastic DP). The helmet associated with this is also not available to me, and OMG it's totally my favorite helmet. I'm still open to doing a bunch of work to make this happen, because I'm a huge Halo fanboy (which is okay, because I don't sound crazy, like PS3 fanboys), and ICanHazWhutEvrThuNameUvThuHelmutIzThatIeDiduntGetUnlocked. Please? End my suffering (by not killing me)? Ohh and BTW, thank god that Frankie guy is gone, he was a bag of skuhdoosh. Luke, I know that you will be everything he wasn't, like help me fix my helmet. Right... ?
theres a special cornor of hell reserved just for you.

I'm liking it. The Smuggler sounds like an overseeing AI on Installation 05, i.e. it does not interfere with anything 2401 does, but can override its decisions if necessary. And if this is supposed to be an ARG, the Smuggler somehow got propelled back in time to 2008. Wonder what'd be on the other end of this... PS: is this proof that the Gravemind had taken over Delta Halo way before the events of Halo 2, or even the Human-Covenant war? [Edited on 05.31.2008 7:50 AM PDT]

i did the math on the number of hours something was waiting on that last entry. that would be 286 years. its apparently not human.

What is the smuggler??? And yes I understand that it is some sort of flood outbreak. This a clue to your next game Bungie? [Edited on 05.31.2008 7:27 AM PDT]

sooo...flood escaped on delta halo because of a space rift (like those ships create when they go into slipspace) and 2401 Penitant Tangent sucks at controling them? I miss delta halo. Ima gunna go play it.
-
I think that smuggler is a city or facility over run by flood, and will have a good bit of openable/closeable doors because it says that it locked down security features and the likes.
-
He is correct... I meant 290 years - not days... I suck
-
Smuggler sounds like Isolation. But good.
-
There will be no new campaign downloads. Mark my words! The story is finished in Halo 3

im glad bungie will try to communcaite these changes more, would of stoped a lot of problems. also if it was "just" .4 percent why even change it and cause a problem? was it that needed? if it was such a small percentage leave it alone. [Edited on 05.31.2008 5:16 AM PDT]

Who the hell is "The Smuggler"? A new ARG? Hi AR!
-
I though Bungie had detached itself from Microsoft, yet now you want us to install Silverlight. What was wrong with Flash, the software that everyone else uses? Getting us to install Silverlight will only fuel Microsofts fantasy that it can control everything. Or did a large amount of money mysteriously change hands when Silverlight was decided upon? I'm slowly losing faith in you, Bungie, and this doesn't help your case one bit.

Oh, that "Smuggler" part is just sneakily talking about a new map. Nevermind.
Posted by: AdumD First.
lol :P [Edited on 05.31.2008 4:06 AM PDT]

That bit about the containment breach on Installation 05 at the end caught me completely off guard. I always like it when Bungie just throws something like that in there. :) What we can gather, it seems, is that the gravemind was active for over 250 years before we ever got there. But who let them out?

lots of really cool stuff this week, Bungie :) Although I'd still really love there to be the option of placing the Elephant on Avalance, I think that would be cool, after all it is a vehicle map :)
Posted by: Cracula420 im new to halo online. i am just starting to get to know the bungie website as well. i have a question and wonder if someone could answer this for me. i got a few messages from people i dont know, it said that if i send enough of this screen shot to all friends and recent players for 2 and 1/2 weeks i will get recon. first of all is this true or just some sort of spam? second what is recon is it an armor? please reply my email if that is easier is [censored]
Whoa, dude. Firstly, don't give your email out in public - people spam it all the time. No, it's fake. I've got those messages too. Don't buy it. Ok here is what I took from it after some background checks: LF.Xx.3723 is the codename for the Flood Cell type Delta site is Installation 5 (from Halo 2) 2401 Penitent Tangent is the AI (Oracle) of Installation 5 However, here's the catch: Based on records found in the Halo 3 terminals, the flood broke free from containment on Installation 5 in the year 2273 Halo 3 took place in the year 2552 The time reported in the log is roughtly 286.79 years Therefore, the containment log reported another breach in the year 2559.79, roughly 7 years after the Arc was destroyed. This leaves open one of two possibilities: 1.) The Smuggler (codename for the new Halo 3 Map) is simply just a map based on Installation 5 in a flood-ruined Forerunner structure or on a bigger stretch... 2.) The foundation for the next game. The Halo installations remaining after the destruction of the Arc lay completely barren and forgotten. When Halo 2 ended, Installation 5 was overrun with the Flood, but it was believed that with the death of the Gravemind in Halo 3, the Sentinels on Installation 5 would then be able to take care of the contamination. However, this was never addressed. Maybe the Flood were forced back into containment, until someone else came and released them again. This would also fit the whole "It could be a while before anyone finds us, years even" quote by Cortana in the closing scene of Halo 3, and it does fit the magic "7" number Bungie loves so much. The planet in the end looks like it is Forerunner, possibly Onyx, and now the flood could be back again, 7 years in the future, trying to save themselves from the remaining 6 rings that could possibly still be individually activated, and therefore look towards Onyx for shelter.

At first, like I'm sure a lot of other people did, I thought that Smuggler was some more cannon in the Halo universe. Then I realized that, it is in fact, nothing that should be drawing so much talk. Smuggler is another map, with a forerunner/?flood? theme. That entry was about the map's background/history.
