Expansion is unfair to regular content players

Well, hello. I tried to use the search button but it got me to some articles and not to some posts. If my topic is already out there i would be glad with a link to go there. I am making this post to make some feedback on the expansion, from the point of view of a player that doesn't have it. I have been playing for a couple of months already and i got a warlock lvl 29, and hunter lvl 25. As we all know, the game is a hard grinding game, to get to 30-32 you got to grind all your way up doing the missions and the crucible over and over again. This is not a problem since i used to play this kind of games a lot when i was younger ( another rpgs ) but there are a couple of things that just bother me a lot and maybe they can't get changed but i would like some feedback on why are they so. For example, the other i wanted to play and when i logged in all daily heroics, ( night fall, strike, daily story ) were from the expansion,i understand that its inevitable that when you get the expansion some of them gotta be there, but it seems to me unfair that the 3 of them are so, the people with the expansion can enjoy the regular game content but not the other way around, seems to me like the game is punishing me for not buying the expansion , and it is not something that i don't wanna do, but i can't for the moment, and as me, there must be a lot of people so(without taking into account that some people won't get it because they feel the content doesn't match the price but thats another topic ). Another example, the other day, after the psn down time, i was glad bungie let xur another extra day, that was cool, thanks, but when i went to buy it's content there was only one thing i could buy for my warlock, and they were some gloves..from the expansion so even if i got them i was not going to be able to equip them,to me this seems rather unfair, because i grind all week, even multiple weeks and there is already a chance Xur won't have anything for me , and to make it worse, when it has, i can't use it. So i have to buy the expansion just to use this items. Don't forget that exotic engrams also can give you something you can't use, and there are a lot of things that you get in the game from lucky drops, like doing raids, or getting rare engrams. This is as i know, and see a method to keep us playing forever, and as i company i see how good this can be. Another example is how lvl 26 strike is only for expansion folks, we already can't do heroics and such, and friends of mine say well, no problem, lets do some strikes, and we can't do together a 26 lvl strike just because i don't have the expansion, would be too much to ask to allow people to do lvl 26 strike regular game content? really? too much? i know you folks had this conversation when you made it this way, i am sure you did, but well the company goes first, it's important we sell that expansion to people. I want to say that don't forget how is to be the little guy, don't forget why we all play this games for, what you all made it for, at least for me the money is important, but if that's everything feeding this game, i will never fall in love with it, i will just keep playing, addicted to it maybe till i get to lvl 30-31 or maybe i will just get bored because seems that it's easier to find where to complain on the game than finding things to love(And i got things i love for the game). Sorry for my english, but i am a spanish tongue. I just ask for some feedback. That's all.

  • You're not being punished simply encouraged to buy the dlc. I highly doubt they will change these practices since they are a business and in it to make money. Plus it takes money to continually support and develop more content. This seems to be the path that developers are moving into for these types of games. And to some degree it makes sense. Nearly gone are the days when you payed one price and got a game that never changed. However, Bungie seems to be taking it to the extreme by pre developing content and selling it off in small pieces at a time for maximum profit.
