Today I loaded up my old Heretic AI collection game save and killed off all the Elites leaving only the Heretic Grunts...
I then turned on Catch skull...

And all will know heresy...

These are only a small glimpse of what Heretic Grunts really are. When I turn on additional skulls, that is when they shall show their true potential!!
Posted by: Sliding Ghost
Posted by: G0xx Even though that was ridiculously obnoxious, I kind of laughed at the idea of a thousand grunts in an army.
What was unpleasant? There could have been more Heretic Grunts but they interfered with my setup (non-stop gun fire forces me to seek cover and any Grunt can DELETE supply cases if the objects are blocking doorways) and they are territorial (they don't leave the room with the other Grunts so they can be problematic in determining if there were any stragglers). It is possible to get around 30 Grunts in CE and H3 (on S117 and The Storm) but I don't think an army of them is possible. An army of Elites is possible in H2 but in H3, the highest you can get is 10 (on The Covenant, 7 Elites from the third tower, 3 Arbiters) unless you deload all vehicles (then there will be 2 additional Elites in a high place that you can bring down with the rocket launcher). In CE, the highest number of Elites that can gather in one area is around 25.
There wasn't anything bad about it, but it's just a bunch of grunts shooting needlers and lobbing grenades. It's funny and cool, but that's pretty much it. [Edited on 03.20.2012 2:12 PM PDT]
