What Destiny Could've Been...

I didn't get much into the hype for Destiny before it came out, my friend however was really looking forward towards it for the longest time. It was right before the beta was available that I put $5 down for pre-order to try the game, and I liked what I played. For the first time today, I watched this video of official gameplay that was revealed last year. Now I know that a game can change before release, especially within a year, but what I watched looked a lot better than the final product. The different selection screens, wielding two primary weapons, and getting what looked like a guaranteed exotic weapon for beating a boss enemy. A super that recharged incredibly fast, but still had a decent cooldown. It looked like something that would make a warlock incredibly fun to play if you could Nova Bomb more often. And just how everything looked, it looked great. Of course the exotic weapons could've been easily been scripted to show off the game, but I feel that guaranteed anything for certain story missions or even raids would've been much better. The games destination menu now says that completing a raid rewards raid armor, but we all know its not true, I've gone through raids all the way start to finish without getting a single piece of armor. I like the idea a lot better that we should've been able to get some things guaranteed and no random "you might get it" system. And the story, well you know about the lack of that. Potential was there, but it seemed wasted. Thoughts on what this game could have been if not should have been?
