• Each of them have their own advantages Atheon could wipe Crota out of existence with the oracles Crota would be unkillable unless Atheon used a sword Atheon could learn to pick up a sword and just hide the oracles so Crota couldn’t hit them, this means that in my opinion Atheon would win

    Disclaimer may be too much to read for some but those who do will probably enjoy Crota's army has been unsuccessful at cracking Rasputin's firewall. So they decided to invade the archive to seek new information that can help them with their conquest of the Traveler. Instead they discover the Vault of Glass and the secret of gaining it's entry. Perhaps the Vex hold the key of defeating Rasputin and overriding his defenses. Sync Plates 500 Thrall 50 Cursed Thrall 200 Acolytes 50 Knight Boomers 40 Knight Swords 10 Wizards 10 Ogre Gatekeepers 5 Knight Gatekeepers (blue ones) Sardon Omnigul Ir Yut Crota, Son of Orix Sync Plates are fairly easy Praetorians blast away some of the Thrall but are just annihilated by the sheer force of the army. Knight Gatekeepers undamaged since they are the chosen and can only be hurt with blades. Crota keeps his cursed thrall away to save them for later Confluxes/Oracles/Templar 450 Thrall 50 Cursed Thrall 170 Acolytes 50 Knight Boomers 48 Sword Knights 10 Wizards 10 Ogre Gatekeepers 5 Knight Gatekeepers Sardon Omnigul Ir Yut Crota, Son of Orix Crota has the Ogres charge a path through the stone making it big enough for the army to make it down. Crota and his generals stayed higher up to direct the battle. The majority of the army jumps down and are greated by the Templar. 5 of the Ogre Gatekeepers charge in and eye blast the Templar. No effect the templar decimates them. Crota orders his army away from its sight. Omnigul sees the Vex running into the conflux and senses something bad from this ritual she orders thrall and knights to stop the sacrifices. Fanatics start catching the Hive off guard. A Fanaric charges a Knight Gatekeepers and is smashed in by it's sword but it's unholy infection starts infecting it's body the mighty Gatekeeper fell. Crota was shocked that something other than one of the ancient blades could damage let alone kill a chosen. Ir Yut's song kills Vex periodically but not quick enough to stop the new waves. Crota senses desperation fearing the kamikaze tactics of the Fanatics and orders the Cursed Thrall to collide with the Fanatics also taking out surrounding Vex. Glowing lights start chiming in and out. Crota has his remaining thrall, acolytes, and knights attack the oracles. Suddenly Hobgoblins spawn and start picking off the army. Unfortunately Hive Wizards have a weakness for Solar Line Rifles. Crota orders boomers and remaining Ogres to blast every Hobgoblin they see. Omnigul and Ir Yut fly over to the Hobgoblins in the back that are out of range of the other Hive. They are much more powerful then the lesser wizards and easily kill each Hobgoblin as they teleport in. After going through multiple waves it became silent and a shiny small energy shield sits in the middle. Crota doesnt understand or care about the significance of the Aegis. At this point he is annoyed and jumps on it smashing it to bits with his sword. Suddenly the Templar appears. Crota sword lunges at him and shatters the Templar shield. They said it would take something great to take down the Templar's shield and Crota and his sword were great indeed. All the surrounding army shoots the Templar from all angles and Crota sword swipes finishing off the Templar. Gorgon Maze 30 Thrall 0 Cursed Thrall 48 acolytes 15 Knight Boomers 10 Sword Knights 1 Wizard 10 Ogre Gatekeepers 3 Knight Gatekeepers Sardon Omnigul Ir Yut Crota Son of Orix Crota sends some knights, acolytes, and his near invincible Gatekeepers ahead in a seemingly sound strategy. After a while there was nothing it was silent. Crota sends Omnigul in seeing it is a large and tall cave to fly over it. She notices strange enemies below they look like those Harpie things from before but they glow with an intense light. She called over Ir Yut and asked her to sing them a lovely song. She succeeds in her song of death, but suddenly more Gorgons appear to replace them and they seemed to be on high alert. She decided to sing again...this time nothing happened as though they have gained immunity."They know my song, but how can they be apart of it?" Unconviced that this is possible she flew in closer and sang her song again. Suddenly all the Gorgons looked up with unforgiving red eyes that ripped into Ir Yut's souls and beyond...erasing her as her last screams are ripped from the air. Omnigul is luckily out of sight and reports it to Crota. Crota orders Omnigul to find a way out. Crota has a plan and he lifts Sardon up and throws him to the middle of the maze. Sardon activates his Burden of Darkness and weighs all the Gorgons to the ground. Crota and his Ogres rush towards an exit that Omnigul found and they smash their way to the a large ledge with floating platforms that were appearing in and out of reality. Sardon could no longer keep his hold over the Gorgons. As it failed the Gorgons regained their movement. Sardon gave one last attack.. a going away present. He smashed his sword to the ground releasing a brilliant arc light that ripped through the ground. This made the Gorgon move several feet however there was not even a scratch. They gathered around him and red doom started to fill the air as Sardon was wiped from existance. If Crota's army would leave the Vault their memories of him would Vanish outside the Vaults presence. But for now Crota's army will know that his sacrifice single handedly saved them. Jumping Puzzle Crota Omnigul 2 Ogre Gatekeepers 10 boomer Knights 1 Wizard 8 sword knights Omnigul and the Wizard glided down with ease. Crota ignored the sketchy platforms and does a massive leap down instead making the puzzle in one jump. Knights use the platforms some make it while others fall when the platforms vanish. The Ogres are left behind...hopefully Crota will be victorious and they can find a way back to the Hellmouth. Gatekeepers/Atheon Crota Omnigul 5 sword knights 4 boomer Knights 1 Wizard Crota sees the Vex Gatekeeper in the middle and does a sword lunge obliterating it. He the ran throughout the room killing all the enemies. Omnigul observed one of the portals open when a Knight stood on it. She orders them in she decided to enter the other portal. The knights rushed the Gatekeeper on Mars. The Hobgoblins annihilated the remaining wizard and picked off some knights while the remaining knights took out the Hobgoblins. They did a suicide charge at the Vex Gatekeeper and was able to hack it down. Unfortunately the Gatekeeper goes off with a bang and only using swords they were too close.... no one survived. Omnigul entered the Venus gate realizing quickly that she was outgunned and decided to use the last trick up her sleave and summoned two shriekers that she gained dominion over after Ir Yut was erased. They gave her the perfect cover even in death as they release the universes most ancient power of the void. She gracefully dodged the Gatekeepers attacks and unloaded a barrage of arc bolts and destroyed the Gatekeeper. Suddenly her vision was darkening she was able to find the portals exits. Crota glanced over at her shrieking in madness as she plunged into darkness. Suddenly a large figure formed out of nowhere bright electricity crackled along with mechanized gears...Atheon! Crota wasted no time and barraged him with his hand blaster...barely a scratch. Atheon unleashes a torrent of Void blasts and brought the god to his knees. Crota thinks on how this is possible and almost questions if he can destroy this mechanized monstrosity. But Crota quickly recovers his shield as well as his pride ready for a charge. Atheon raised his hand to the air. Crota did a mighty sword leap....and nothing....where am I? Suddenly an oracle chimes in Crota smashes it in one swoop and another amd another....his vision is dimming. He can no longer see his foes. A chorus of chimes almost taunting him. The Vault re-writes Crota's purpose, his being, his very essence for some mysterious dark design. Time's Vengeance is unforgiving not even the soul can escape. The End of Time One day a green crystal appears on earth in front of Eris. Eris had thought that Crota's terror was over. But suddenly the crysral starts to turn bright metalic silver. It started to glow in a radiant light and exploded. Eris gets blown back by the Shockwave and sees a large figure. Did Crota's ritual of the soul succeed? She dreaded the tall silhouette appearing through the dust realizing her greatest fear was a reality...but little did she know that she had much more to fear for this figure shimmered in pristine chrome. Atheon!!! It was his purpose in luring Crota to the Vault this whole time. He has broken the prison of time and is no longer bound by it's constraints. Atheon summoned a time gate and an army of Vex poured through as Eris watched in frozen horror. Finally Gorgons exited at the tail of the army As the Gorgons stared at Eris she made a final passage that... never happed. "All memory of my existance will vanish from reality. I will die and no one will mourn - Eris" (Atheon on Crota: I wouldn't of given that n00b the Mythoclast even if he did beat me)

    • The only way Atheom could lose is if he went inside Crota's nether world, there Crota could just pick up the sword and kill him but not in one shot because it not guardians die from one shot and not Atheon. On nutreul field Atheon wins because Crota doesn't have the power of his sword and he can only by killed by his sword in his nether world so Crota's shield and health would drop pretty quickly. And in the Vault Crota wouldn't make it past the Templar because if Atheon doesn't know how to pick up a sword (which heshould because he's and intelligent robot that has knowledge of the past and future) then I'm pretty sure the Crota, who is just as weak hive prince who only took over the moon, yes, it isn't that big of an accomplishment it's just the moon guys. Would not know how to pick up the Ageis.

      I believe Atheon would win. Sorry for the long post. I made a walk through on how Atheon's fireteam would go through the CE raid and how Crota's fireteam would go through the VoG. I did break my answer in parts to make it easier to read if anyone is board and wants to try. I also included a section at the end explaining why the oversoul won't work in certain encounters in the VoG raid. Atheon in Crota's end: Atheon's fireteam wins Abyss: He can walk up the levels of the abyss maze like steps because he is so damn big, activate the plate, and destroy the ogres with his blaster Bridge Encounter: Vex have the inherent ability to teleport themselves great distances and don't even need to build the bridge to get to the other side. Or have at least two hobgoblins in the fire team to stand under the totems and put up their fire shields making them immortal (momentarily) under the totems to build the bridge. And cross normally. Speed chest: Atheon destroys the shreikers and any random vex can teleport into the chest room Ir Yut: I'm sure Atheon can do enough DPS and can bullet sponge enough to survive long enough to kill her while taking damage. The other vex can use gorilla tactics teleport in and out and do DPS Crota: Let's say Atheon doesn't teleport him into the past or future. Atheon and fireteam kills gate keeper and brings down Crota's shield. Any random vex (not Atheon) teleports to the sword then Crota. The instantaneous teleport from any safe spot (middle platform) to Crota would make the vex an awesome sword bearer. Perfect sword bearer means a kill on Crota before ogres. Crota in the vault: Crota lost at the Templar or the Gorgons. The Spire: Crota utilizes two gatekeepers to hold left and right plates while he's at middle. Since gatekeepers can't die (without the sword) the plates will not be lost. Fill the remaining spots with acolytes (void) and boomers to focus on pretorians. Or replace gatekeepers with shreikers (void) and the acolytes with more boomers. The confluxes: The same strategy as above can apply here. Oracles: This will be harder because using Knights will be a crutch. They are good at DPS and can take a lot of hits but when they get hit by the hobgoblin snipers, they will put up their shields and they will fall behind on oracles. So Crota should do the wipe and snipe strategy and have a fireteam of about two ogres to hit the far oracles if the boomers can't reach. The rest of the open fireteam spaces go to boomers. If boomers can't reach any oracle, use wizards or more ogres. Wizards would be best because the can float and position themselves perfectly for each oracle. Templar: Crota probably lost here This is where I think they will fail. You need to use the relic to do damage to the Templar. And the relic is made from the body of a dead guardian that sacrificed himself so that others can use his light to succeed. I don't think any creature of darkness can use a weapon of light and I don't think the relic itself will allow it to be used by an enemy of the light. But if they can then they should be fine. A couple of ogres maybe phogoth as well can do enough DPS to down the Templar. Crota can just stand an block teleports while doing DPS. Gorgons: Crota has to loose here There is no way in hell Crota is making his way through that maze without being seen. He can kill a couple of gorgons bring phogoth and he can kill another and if by some dumb luck he somehow passes the maze he's not fitting through the cave to the jumping puzzle. If he tries to break his way through at the exit of the maze I'm sure every gorgon will make its way there wondering what is causing the resulting earthquake. He won't be able to kill all of them at once. Maybe replace everybody (except Crota obviously) with gatekeepers. Gatekeepers can't be damaged by weapons. While that is correct, gatekeepers can still be willed out of existence. Gorgons don't kill they just make you not exist anymore. Jumping puzzle: no idea how he made it here Fireteam full of witches to float to the other side. Crota needs to only walk on a few platforms (long walking strides) and then jump straight to the bottom platform once he's close enough. Gatekeeper: Bring in an ogre again. Gatekeeper down. Send in the whole team to take the relics. Crota and the ogre can hold the time plate and they can't fit through anyway. It'll take work but doable. Atheon: winnable but odds are, Crota won't be present when Atheon dies or be the one to kill him. But everyone lost at Templar and Gorgons already At some point Atheon is going to be a dick and teleport Crota. A Boomer (the fireteam should consist of mostly boomers now) would grab the relic leaving Crota and the other boomer with the oracles. (Crota has his darkness blast or fist whatever it's called someone said Crota is useless against oracles cuz you can't melee them) when they finish the oracles Crota won't be able to go back through the time gate because he's too big. The other two make it out but without Crota's major DPS ability the encounter will take long. I'm now assuming that boomer can't shoot from inside the bubble because that weapon would probably work like a rocket. They would have to step out of the bubble and would get picked off slowly. If boomers can go through the bubble then just maybe the Knights could down Atheon fast enough. But then that'll mean Crota, son of Oryx would have to be carried through some of the last part of the raid which would be a disgrace because he was the one that was supposed to kill him. Problems with the oversoul:[/b] At Atheon: I didn't use the oversoul at Atheon because Atheon would have enough DPS to down it. Of if Crota wants to cheese using that then Atheon can cheese by sending it to the future so that the oversoul hasn't happened yet and it will happen again. Gorgons: What if Crota uses oversoul to pass Gorgons? That could work. Kill a gorgon to trigger the oversoul to kill the rest. But at some point don't the Gorgons become immortal? And if he triggered it the gorgon will notice it and will it out of existence. So what works faster Gorgons gaze or the oversoul? If he could wipe out all the Gorgons, they keep on spawning to replace the downed ones. At Templar: Trigger oversoul by killing a harpie. The oversoul annihilation works like a mechanic in the CE raid but would have to be treated as an attack to be included in the VoG raid which does not include the oversoul mechanic. Since no attack can pass the Templars shield (aside from the relic) it would only be effective in clearing the map of adds. Good luck trying to charge your super faster relic holder. EDIT: to fix grammar, replace wrongly used words, and added a wizard strategy against the oracles after confluxes.

        • to really determine who would win u'd have to measure the hive vs vex as a whole because too truely determine whose the better man it has to be done on neutral ground so no home field advantage no gorgons no gatekeepers (crota) no timetravel no oversole we are also gonna assume that atheon can hurt crota without sword cuz for all we know without being in the darkest pit in the solar system crota may be able to take damage in other means now setting: the tower has fallen. the vex turned mars into a machine, causing the cabal to retreat. the hive flooded to the surface and overran earth, causing the fallen to fall back from venus, the moon and eventually retreat from earth as well. guardians fall back to tower and the city to fortify defences, but the hive get a hold on another peace of the traveler and this time complete their ritual. with the traveler's light gone this also drops the ghost's (respawn) and armor's (level > 20) light. sensing the disappearance of what light remained in the solar system, crota and atheon head for earth to finish the job themselves. at this point ships are pouring in as well as vex teleporting on site effectively wiping out the guardians. any who remain go into hiding trying to evade their certain death. with the guardians gone crota (from one side of the city) meets eyes with atheon (from the other side) it is each their first encounter with the others species and tensions are high...simultaneously, they both issue the attack order.... now comparisons: goblins vs thralls: goblins can teleport to safe distance and decimate thralls; Goblins hobgoblins vs acolytes: hobgoblins are all acomplished snipers and can eliminate acolytes from a distance as well as temporarily becoming invulnerable to damage; hobgoblins knights & wizards vs minotaurs: while minotaurs have no weak points knights ( boomers or sword) do enough damage to harm them even thru their shield. wizards can fly and easily avoid the minotaur's shot and slow them down with cloud while the desimate them with a flurry of arch bolts; Draw for knights, edge to wizards ogres vs hydras: hydras have shields and do have major firepower but thier shields only cover half thier body and one hit from that beam and they're done; ogres gatelords vs minions of oryx: both about the same size and agility, both similar weapons and abilities; Draw phogoth vs nexus: very similar to ogres and hydras; edge phogoth minds vs omnigul: omnigul is a boss don't get me wrong but relies heavily on help from others and doesnt put out much more damage than a regular wizard so going up against the three minds on her lonesome may be a bit much for her; edge minds atheon vs crota: heres the big one atheon can teleport and has a cannon but crota has a heavy shield a one shotter sword and finger guns like chuck norris. plus one can assume he has similar abilities to a guardian wielding a sword since...well its his sword so u basically have a level 32 guardian with a sword vs a level 32 minotaur yea the minoutaurs like to teleport and yea they occasionally get lucky and kill you but more often than not youd likely come out victorious especially since this particular minotaur has a weak spot and no shield i say; edge crota draws count as points for both: Crota: 6 Atheon: 5 looking around at the war torn city after days of battle...many vex are dead as well as hive, Atheon realizes while the battle was close his defeat is imminent. as crota approaches to finish him off, atheon bows his head in defeat. but just as crota swings his blade down he hits nothing but air...back at the Vault of Glass atheon appears outta thin air. he approaches the time conflux and goes back a few days. there is a ritual being performed on earth by a few hive wizards in a dark chamber. suddenly the chamber is flooded with goblins, hobgoblins and minotaurs who destroy the hive presence as well as the shard. atheon goes back thru his portal to search for a time when he can have his revenge.

                      Crota opens the VoG, enters VoG along with all the Hive Crota sends Ir Yut and other Hive teammates to defend the Left Conflux, Phogoth and others to defend the Right Conflux, and he defends the Middle. Boomers cheese the Oracles, Wizards fly to Hogoblin and murder them. Thralls and Acolytes kill all Harpies Crota picks the shield, shoots the Templar and everyone starts shooting him. Crota and the Hive go to the maze. One Thrall dies, Crota getting mad, summons his Oversoul, kills all Gorgons Crota gets picked up by Wizards and flies through the Invisible Platforms towards the Gatekeeper. Crota and Hive kill the Gatekeeper. Atheon spawns. Crota jumps to Atheon. Crota damages Atheon and Atheon makes him kneel A Guardian pops out of nowhere. (Probably returned to orbit to go to the bathroom) Guardian sees what happens. Kills both of them Hoping to get the Mythoclast he gets an Ascendant Shard instead In despair, Guardian kills himself. The story of my life ;-;

                        Clearly the Crota we fought was just a backup double in case we ever attacked him. He clearly wouldn't be that easy or boring to beat, right guys? I mean he took the entire moon and made it his own personal play thing and is the son of the Hive God. Clearly the actual Crota would be alot tougher and more fun and difficult to beat. Clearly. Right guys? Right?
