I was going to say that the Ahamkara are my favourite aspect, but then I read a Grimoire card that describes "The Nine" and I think I've changed my mind.
A secret order that consists of beings and powers from all the far reaches of the solar system, manipulating events from the shadows and blurring the line between good and evil.
If that doesn't sound awesome, then I don't know what does.
Do you agree?
If not; what's your favourite piece of Destiny lore?
Edit 1: Story and lore are not the same thing. Destiny's story is a splintered mess that doesn't enlighten the player at all, but the lore is fascinating as it goes in-depth with all manners of Destiny's history.
This is not a place to argue for or against Grimoire cards being the vessel of the lore because were merely discussing the backstories themselves.

Jarren Ward and Dredgen Yor's story is amazing thats by far my favorite grimoire
-
Dregen Yor/thorn and shin mal fur/ the last word. Know how the description of the last word say "yours not mine" shin mal fur to dredgen Yor. Well in dark age 2 grimour shin malfur says "yours.not mine" to some loken dude. Is something wrong here or what? I may have gotten names mixed up but pretty certain they are correct

Rasputin's rise (thanks to our guardian) reminds me of Durandal from Marathon. I really want to know more about "him."
-
There are some great ones that I enjoy; the Thorn/Last Word story, the Ahamkaras are very intriguing, Rasputin is right up there. I think my favorite though, or at least the one I'd like to see explored, is the "Device" that the Future War Cult finds that allows people to see the future. It's on the FWC Ghost Fragment card.
-
Planet A-113, I swear everytime I bring it up no one knows what I'm talking about. That place sounds so good. The enemies sounds absolutely insane.
-
There's this one grimoire card about a fallen captain and a guardian fighting off hive on the moon. That card I awesome. That or the back story behind the last word.
-
There are a lot of different ones I like but the first that comes to mind is the battle for the twilight gap. I would love to see a cut scene where Lord Saladin Leads Savala and Shax into battle alongside others. A trio of Titans charging against the enemy in an all out war. I may be a die hard Warlock but the three living legends really intrigue me.
-
Illumininey confirmed. The one about how the fallen catalogue things and the way they treat stories of their history. I wish we knew more about the races we are battling.
-
The part about Dregs having their second set of arms chopped off.
-
My favorite part about the lore is that we still have no clue what the traveller is...
-
Making my own stories up, since there is none in the game
-
DESTINY DOESN'T HAVE LORE!!!!
-
Meh if it's not actually in the game I don't see it as lore. I find the fact we have to leave the game as idiotic, and any information outside of the game is more of an extended universe. So pretty much is exists but unless it appears in the game I choose not to follow or believe that it exist.
-
I'm interested in the different Fallen houses. Is there going to be a "civil war"? The queen is the Leader of the house of wolves so will we get some missions in the reef or will we end up fighting her
-
My favorite part of the lore is the lore about the legendary Moon Wizards. I'm sure the majority agrees.
-
Wait theres an actual story in this gamre? Thats news to me
-
How none of it is in game
-
My favourite is how the lore between TLW intertwines with that of the Thorn. They gotta make a short series about that shit.
-
I would have to say that it's the Thorn's story of corrupting its guardian.
-
Read the Thorn lore and The Last Word, if you put them together you will realize that these weapons are old enemies....
-
Kabr's lore was a good read, makes me scratch my head about the raid and the possibility of more elusive secrets.
-
i think the hive have good lore and look cool
-
I found it funny how Dr. Shim is kind of a dick. Anyone else notice in the archive mission on venus the computer says "welcome dr. Shim" and your ghost tells you to ignore that?
-
The dead orbit grimoire card...the one about dead orbit investigating a golden age signature near the reef...I think its giving us a hint about a possible raid or strike in the reef
-
Destiny has lore? I've played the game through multiple times and didn't see any
-
Ahamkara also interests me but dredgen yore is also cool
