What about Cross-Play Support (between the same branded consoles) for Co-op only?

Yes, that's awesome for Co-op!

No, It's not a level playing field.

Maybe, if it works and it's fair.

What if we could play with PS3 and PS4 with each other or Xbox360 and XboxOne with each other only on Co-op Story missions, Raids, Patrol and Strikes. While at the same time keeping Crucible mode the same way on there separate consoles with no cross play. What do you think? This would mean that we could play with PS3 and PS4 with our friends in cross play on co-op but not crucible! *We know Bungie won't allow cross play between PS3 <-> PS4 and Xbox360 <-> XboxOne because they fear Crucible will be broken due to the resolution gap but that game shouldn't matter when were playing with people on Co-op mission and not Crucible. http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/for-bungie-straddling-four-consoles-in-destiny-was-a-balancing-act/#!bhR9PK * *Also I know Microsoft won't allow cross play but I'm sure Bungie could negotiate that out maybe, maybe not, things change after all and all that is involved is money. That's why we should share our positive thoughts here to show the need and want for this feature!* Please share your thoughts on this subject please refrain from rants/rage as this idea could work if they implemented it on the server end. Proof of it working, but not being used due to a hypothetical fear. This fear really only applies to Crucible, not PVE. Who cares if they got more resolution on next-gen system when were trying to just win the game!? Also if you believe what Roger Woflson says, a PC version will never come because they fear people with higher resolution will have unfair advantage and PC is full of random resolution choices.: This was a interview with Roger Wolfson: http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/for-bungie-straddling-four-consoles-in-destiny-was-a-balancing-act/#!bhR9PK
This is one of the big reasons why we don’t see cross-platform play, even when it’s under a single hardware maker’s banner. Players might wonder why Destiny works on PS3 and PS4, but doesn’t allow for players on either console to intermingle. This isn’t a product of some technical dilemma; it’s about preserving the experience for everyone. “I’ll speak for the hypothetical player,” Wolfson explains. “I have a disadvantage sniping across the map because [my opponent with a next-gen console] is only two pixels on my screen and I’m four pixels on his. You see that in the world of PC gaming, where people are always racing to the best video card to give themselves the advantage.” “Regardless of where the reality is, there’s definitely a perception among gamers that better hardware means you have an advantage. We don’t want to have to enter that fray, so to create the best, most level playing field, both actually and perceptually, we separated it by platform.”..... "I’ve been playing some on the Xbox 360 as well as the PS4 [at home] as we head into the beta window, and I’ve been really pleased at how I can almost forget that I’m playing on a last-gen console. There’s really no difference at all in loading, the action game is as fluid and as action-packed, there are as many combatants on the last-gen, [and] the loading times are equivalent."
Note he's talking about the higher resolution being an overtly powerful advantage over the last gen system player. Yet why would you fully support this feature with PS Vita Remote Play (ie. this is a form of Cross-play) with a small screen with less resolution with a bit more latency and not support PS3 and PS4 Cross-play?: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/09/05/destiny-remote-play-hands-on/ For those not familiar with Cross-play, Sony Cross play between PS3, PSVita and PS4 only check it out: http://faq.en.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9205/~/cross-play-on-ps-vita-faq's https://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3823/~/ps-vita-cross-platform-play http://www.giantbomb.com/ps3-vita-cross-play/3015-7323/games/ This is a good example of cross play working on all three PlayStation platforms: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/11/06/terraria-comes-to-ps4-tuesday-bigger-world-new-items-cross-play/ NOTE: Also please understand that when I refer to cross play I refer to it within the same single brand only. Example: Xbox 360 with Xbox One together or PS3 with PS4 together. NOT Xbox 360 with Ps3 or PS4 together. Sony and Microsoft will never work together with multi-player end of story. But within a single manufacturer/brand maybe =D Thanks for all the feedback. I'll be updating this first post as needed as I discover people miss understanding the wall of text XD
