RAID Matchmaking - Do you beat the raid (or gain cp's) more often with your friends or with random people?

My friends. We have a great RAID team in place.

8

Randoms. Not enough friends are leveled or play.

10

Randoms. My friends aren't good enough to help out

0

Randoms. Our group is not evenly divisible by 6.

I wish that I didn't have to visit a website to be able to play the RAID. I get that some people can plan out in advance when to meet up, have a bunch of people that can RAID whenever, or otherwise find a group to RAID at any time...I'm not one of those people. This is my personal request to make the RAID more open to those that aren't as hardcore. The RAID is broken down to obvious checkpoints. Once you achieve a cp, then you can start there the next time. This was by design. Well, if I join someone at a cp, then I will have that cp if we aren't able to go beyond. Thus, I can start wherever I want if I can find someone willing to let me join their game. (There's a 3rd party site that makes this as easy as it possibly can be, but I don't mention it as I'm not sure what will block the post. Google destiny looking for group or destiny lfg.) Since the cp is not something that specifically has to be earned, then why not provide the best experience to the gamer? With any group, what are the challenges? * Your Internet, console or the Destiny servers go on the fritz and you get booted. * Someone on your group has to go to work, school, bed, etc and they are unable to continue with you. * Game glitches that cause issue with the optimal gameplay. First off, the cp, since it can be so easily gamed, does not matter as much. If you change how it's so easily gamed, it can cause issue as someone is playing, gets booted for whatever reason seconds before the next cp, and can't ever come back there because the group is now past. (Super frustrating.) So, what could you do. Well, when you start the RAID, allow starting at the different cp's. People will choose the easier ones and that's not what you wanted or designed the game to do. But, people will also get booted or lose because of game glitches that were coded in on accident. What if once the RAID was selected, you could choose your cp and your level? This suggestion is to think of the players. Game glitches will happen as coding something this massive and then placing on servers and consoles around the world is going to add complexity. I think Bungie has done as good of a job as I've seen patching the obvious glitches. (Super frustrating to lose on Atheon because he decided to send all of us through time.) Two of the other challenges cause people to be booted, often never to be seen from again if they are Randos. (Rando ='s random person from websites that help you match make in the raid/weekly/daily's. So, if there was a way to enable matchmaking, then another rando could be added. (If this was done, then hopefully you could add some lever restrictions or some way for people to filter and avoid wasting even more time.) I understand that this is a tough one. It would make the RAID increase in similarity to a strike. But, in many ways the cp's are way easier than any of the full strikes. If we were able to connect via matchmaking, then many players that just want to be able to "play" their video game would be able to access all of the content in that video game. Good way to show people that you appreciate the funding. I enjoy the game. I'm super frustrated that I'll be paying the same price, again, for a game that provides me less content than someone with a PS. I get that there is console wars and reasons behind it, but if you are going to do that, then give us a break in price and have us buy the PS4 exclusive content when it becomes available. (Then we all pay the same for all the content and you show Xbox customers that you had a reason for the exclusivity, but still care about every customer.) I look forward to more gameplay in the future and hope that my friends continue to play. The "random" generator in the RAID seems to hate the player and I've already had the guy that talked me into the game talk about walking away because he can't get into RAIDs and when he does, there is no gear. (He has both ships and I think 4 Praedyth's Revenge, but no armor.) I wish someone would take a look at that "random" generator as it is super frustrating to a player. It's a long rant. If you made it here, then hopefully you are enjoying the game and just really hoping that Bungie will improve it instead of nerfing the weapons you worked hard to max out or kill the tactics that you were employing. If we continue to provide ideas, then hopefully Bungie will continue to make the game better. That's my theory anyway.
