Saturn and Jupiter WILL NEVER BE PLAYABLE here's why

Jupiter and Saturn will never be playable because they are gas giants for those who never did science at school this means that they are made of gas and can't be walked on without sinking into the surface so yea everyone stop saying they will be planets at some point. Edit: I'm trying to respond to everyone but it is getting harder the more people that respond so sorry if I don't respond Edit 2: This is in no way implying that the MOONS of those planets won't be playable only that the planets themselves won't be Edit 3: I'm getting sick of people saying TERRAFORM IT LIKE THEY DID WITH THE OTHER PLANETS you can't just make a gas giant solid and add an atmosphere and all of a sudden it's playable and nothing is wrong

  • Just felt like refreshing this old topic for the mormons out there. Saturn will be one of the main game play locations for destiny 2. Haha.

  • actully you are wrong becasue jupiter is a gas giant wich that means that there has to be a surface because there is obvi a object in the centrer wich atracts all the gas so there fore it actully could become a playable area of the destiny franchise

    • How can you not know one simple fact? When the Traveller entered the Solar System, and after being discovered, sought refuge with the human race, it terraformed ALL planets in the System. Venus and Mars became Earth-like with their atmospheres and landscape, and all 4 gas giants were solidified, given earth-like atmospheres and were inhabited during the Golden Age. After years of war, all records of human life on the gas giants were destroyed (basically Bungie's pathetic excuse to sell us DLC). I know this is an old thread, but now since the release of the Taken King it's obvious to see that Saturn is a land of constant raging storms. All of the gas giants in the Destiny universe are technically playable, since they were terraformed along with the other planets. You can't seriously think Bungie would only make a couple of planets to explore? That would limit the content they could sell back to us. No, no, no. I assure you, all planets of our galaxy are and will be eventually explorable, most likely during Destiny 2 and it's inevitable DLC.

This just shut down your thread OP. Saturn Saturn’s rings have many derelict ships from the days of the Golden Age, including the Cassini, which you can see below. Saturn destiny Not much is known about Saturn other than what’s on the Grimoire cards. Saturn is in Destiny’s list of locations in the game’s database (with no content on it yet), and there’s 2 Grimoire cards for it as well. In an early ViDoc it was said that we’d actually be able to “go to Saturn.” Out beyond the Reef its rings shine. Whatever was known of it in the Golden Age is long forgotten, but more ancient truth remains: Saturn has dozens of moons, including the mighty Titan, a world larger than Mercury. A Guardian’s ship might, in theory, reach Saturn, especially if supported by a larger vessel and good navigational data. But the hazards of the Reef and the Deep Black beyond threaten to devour anyone who makes the attempt. Saturn Ghost Fragment: A cold giant shows its night face to you. Distant moons slide past – icy little comets enslaved by a splendid master. The lightning bolts and high clouds sweep away, and you burrow into a sea of liquid hydrogen that boils out of the long gash. You put yourself on the perfect trajectory, and for a fraction of an instant you allow yourself the luxury of confidence. So… we’ll need “support” if we want to reach Saturn. Where will this support come from? The Queen of the Reef perhaps? Surely the hazards of the Reef could be navigated by the Queen herself. The Nine are ancient leviathan intelligences from the seas of Europa or the hydrocarbon pits of Titan, as explained in the Ghost Fragment: Legends 2 Grimoire card. Jupiter What’s not currently in the database is Jupiter, but like Saturn, there’s 2 Grimoire cards for this planet as well. Jupiter is the fifth and largest planet in the Solar System, with several dozen “Jovian” moons. One of the moons, Europa, once had a human colony on it, but was lost during the Collapse. Jupiter is home to the mysterious Jovians, who are governed by the Nine. These 2 images were shown at a private booth at E3 in 2013. jupiter destiny 2 jupiter e3 destiny Based on the Grimoire, this planet seems to be a strong possibility for a future playable location. Lord of worlds, massive Jupiter and its moons must have been a cornerstone of Golden Age civilization. But the nature and extent of human presence there is now unknown. Old records refer to cities in ice and world-spanning oceans, but perhaps this is only poetry. The City’s ships have rarely attempted any journey to Jupiter or beyond. Europa-moon-destiny Humanity once had a colony on Europa but lost it during the Collapse Jupiter Ghost Fragment: The largest body lets itself be pushed where it needs to be, seduced into nice, warm loving orbits. Persistence is the key. Seafloors transform and then yank themselves skyward, shattering the icy crust. New worlds awaken in the swirling depths. You build homes around this half-born sun ripped by storms and supersonic wind.

      • Lol funny you say that. Jupiter and Saturn are gas giants made of helium compounds. The rings of Saturn are made of little ice rocks. Nothing on dread naught makes sense for being on the ring of Saturn. This is clearly a fictional game and I won't be surprised if they become playable. I mean Venus and Mars are made 95% of carbon dioxide. No way there's any way of playing there.
the messenger is a mission that went to Mercury.
• You actually can walk in gas depending on how "dense" it is. Clearly Jupiter and saturn are extremely dense gas giants. Have you ever seen an ash cloud from a volcano annihilate everything in its path?
