Dynamic Dodging Features...

So during my insomniac episode for a class assignment, I had an Idea that I thought might be a good one. The enemies can side step, jump back, and roll...why the heck can't we? Hear me out, we all want to find some form of usefulness from our D-pad instead of dancing in the middle of a firefight. Being inspired by the dodging system and mechanics from Lost Planet 3 (say what you will, I felt their cinematic dodging system was brilliant despite the games flaws) I figured "Why not utilize a dodging system in the D-pads?" Again, if the enemy can side step, hop back, hop forward, or roll...why the heck can't we? Does anyone else get the feeling that the guardians are quite...cumbersome and lofty in their movements? For left and right on the D-Pad, it could be a simple side step hop or roll, for up on the D-pad it could be something along the lines of maybe a quick forward stagger movement, just to move out of the way for an incoming blast or something. Down on the D-pad could be something along the lines of a quick back step hop, Im sure we can all agree that the back step/hop would be most useful in dodging that major Knight's sword of doom. To help keep things from being over-powered and to prevent it from becoming a Lost Planet MP (where everyone just rolls around) we could have a small cool down moment in between rolls (like we have with our sprints). This is just one idea from one person, I would like to hear what you as the Destiny Community would have to say on the matter. I look forward to the discussion.
