I think that there should be Chiron TL34 (FFA Rockets), and also, why do all the old remakes have new names? Like Blood gulch turned to Coagulation, and there isn't even Coagulation on Halo 3, just Valhalla, but that just isn't the same. I think Boarding Action woud be an interesting place to par-tay. And whats the problem with ladders?!?
-
I hope that it still offers lots of hiding and stealth play as appose to an onslaught of vechiles they seemed to talk about. I just missed the "no radar" all snipers shoot outs with the boys in the old lan parties. I hope that still comes across well..

So whats your point :p

First of all the idea of coming out with Sidewinder is a complete joke. It was a fun H1 map, but people have got to face the facts and realize that H3 plays nothing like H1. In H1 you had the pistol so it made it seem like the map was smaller than it actually was. Good luck to anyone who is gonna try and BR, and everyone out there who likes to use the AR which is a joke in itself so have fun not getting any kills unless everyone plans to meet in the center, across sidewinder because that'll be impossible with the random spread of it so there will be a limited amount of kills. Also, another comical thing I read is that this map was being called out for by the public when I can think of 10 maps more suited for H3 and have been highly requested those being Lockout, Midship, Warlock/Wizard, Chill Out, Beaver Creek, and Santuary at the top of the list. I also like to read that there is a need for more BTB maps when there are already too many BTB maps and not any small competetive maps. The only 2 good competetive maps out there right now are The Pit and Construct, because all the other ones are too big. All in all maps shouldn't be made because they were fun in H1 because you have the pistol which you can do a lot longer range damage with which made the maps fun. Maybe, or should I say defidently, smaller maps should be made. More maps should be made without vehicles and rely on shooting and teamwork instead of jumping in vehicles and running around. Remakes from H2 should be made since H3 and H2 play about the same because that would actually make for some good maps and maybe appeal to some of us competetive gamers out there because we are out there and are watiing for some of those standout H2 remakes and even new small arena competetive maps to make the game everything it can be. "LB: The basics are the same, but you’ll notice some new additions (man cannons), and some things missing (the interior tunnel between the bases). We also haven’t had any ladders in Halo multiplayer maps since Halo 1, so we had to re-design the interiors of the bases to accommodate that. There are a lot more quick ways to get around the level now, that’s probably the biggest change." is it just me, or was there a ladder in the Halo 2 multiplayer lvl where you could shoot stalagmites from the ceiling.(over by the sword.)? Does anyone know the size of Avalanche compared to Sandtrap?
-
"The Spartan Laser also has a big impact on gameplay. I remember a game where the assaulting team had taken the flag, jumped into a mancannon and landed on a teammate’s hornet in hopes of being flown back to their homebase. Just as the flag carrier lands on the hornet, a Laser shot lances the Hornet in a beautiful explosion of red and orange. The flag carrier somehow lived through the explosion and against all odds scored a flag cap a few minutes later… true story." Can I get a VID?

I can't wait! I'm counting down on my wrist calendar...
Posted by: Jimzydoodah
Posted by: OTIS JENKINS that map sucked in halo 2 and it's going to suck in halo 3! end of story
What? Sidewinder/Avalanche was not in halo 2!! If you mean containment then your very wrong! 1. Containment did not suck! 2. Avalanche is a remake of sidewinder! A very good and very different map to containment! Anyway, thanks bungie! Ive loved all the maps so far in halo3 (exept maby isolation). And i really love remakes of the classics, like Zanzibar. I wonder if the third is a remake or original.....? If i had to pick anymore remakes they would have to be Blood Gultch (obviously) and Boarding Action, used to love snipers on halo 1 there!
Containment sucked, the only time I played on that map was when glitching or playing with somebody that modded the map. Sidewinner on Halo 1 ruled. Infact almost all Halo 1 maps pawned. Remakes almost always stink...
-
OH HELL NO!!! They took everything that was great about Sidewinner and removed it!!! Now the map is only going to be playable because of its custom vehicles and maybe forging.
-
How big is avalanche?
-
OH MY GOD YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS TO ME!!!!! It's been SEVEN LONG YEARS without you, Sidewinder. Now you can finally come home.
-
honestly don't put useless posts like that
-
I AGREE!!!! -bites cheeseburger-
-
happy meal... yum CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
IN the post it says they haven't had latter's since halo 1 however for those of you who have played on waterworks in halo 2 where the sword is there are 2 latter's. I just felt i needed to say that.
-
A classic remake of side winder Thanks bungie U rock -sips beer-
Posted by: northwoods I've noticed that in a few posts, there has been some grousing about paying 800 pts for new maps. I don't mind in the least. H3 as shipped is a complete game; actually much more than simply complete. New content in the form of new multi maps is very much additional content for further play, not just enhancing existing play, like new weapons etc.. New maps represent a lot of creative work. Even "old reworked" maps are totally new creative processes requiring a great deal of love, labour and effort. The inspiration may have been a past favorite, but it is all new work. Good work dosn't come easy and it sure ain't free. Yes, Bungie made a great return on H3 (and H2 and H CE...I sense a pattern there.) and they certainly deserved it, every dime. After all, H3 is a complete game. They also deserve to be rewarded for their further effort if the customer choses to buy. Frankly, 800 pts is very cheap..about the cost of a movie ticket or a Happy Meal. The real love is that they are willing to give away past maps. They do care. Finally, the botttom line is that if they did not sell new content, there would be little business incentive to produce new content. Video games are a business. A creative and artfull business, but a business nevertheless, like movies, music and literature. Without the cash coming in, not much can be found coming out. I really like Halo. I want to have as much of the game as I can (I only wish that I played it better). If it costs me a few bucks to have more then I will gladly pay it. If it is profitable, then I am sure that Bungie will find it attractive to crank out a few more maps. After all, its what they like to do. PS..and oh yeah; Playlists, Updates and Websites cost money too. Bungie has already provided an awful lot of free additional content. Buy the maps! It encourages them.
Amen brother, Amen
Posted by: Prezofdeath YESS I have finals tomorrow and was just about to go to bed and BAM! Confirmed. Now if we get Lockout I will send Bungie a million free cheezeburgers
I've seen Lockout on Halo 3. But it was made in Forge on Foundry. Still awsome even though you couldn't fall to your death.

It looks suspiciously a lot like containment to me............... *Shifty Eyes*

Exactly what i said and there was even one on the map with the golden warthog on the wall on the big huge door its really small but it works : )
