Edit: You can read the card. It's the second warlock grimoure card. I included this bit to highlight what I was talking about. Even with the full card, it depends on the meaning of "it" that determines what the passage means. Since they were discussing Crota, and the guardian asked where is Crota, the wizard had been dodging their questions, and said that "IT" (could be Crota or traveler) "did this, exactly this, to an awoken man" (potential warlock guardian)...
I found this deep within the temple of Crota on the moon... It is very disturbing...
This is an excerpt from a guardian whom was able to see into the mind of a hive wizard when interrogating it. This is what the guardian saw...
"It showed me how it did this, just exactly this, to an Awoken man, the knives arranged by its will, like little silver ships, like Ghosts -
It laughed at me. It said we were the same."
This means... The hive, used to be guardians.... What if the hive are the dead guardians from the ancient past. What if "it" means the traveler...
Are we systematically killing tortured guardians whom have been mutilated and tortured through darkness when killing the hive?
This also means that since the title of this fragment mentioned "Warlock Two", that Wizards are corrupted and tortured Warlocks... Guardians...
-
I have a working theory that we created all the enemies we are killing now. Probably sent them to harvest resources from other planets and they somehow became corrupted. The vex gained free will. The awoken may be ancient humans who didn't like us playing god and decided to seperate from us and years in deep space has changed their appearance. Just a thought.
-
Reading the whole fragment, "it" refers to the wizard being tortured. The Guardian is saying that "it" (i.e. the wizard) showed her how it had tortured an Awoken man in much the same way as the guardian was torturing the wizard.
-
I take it to mean that the Wizard interrogated an Awoken man, and was just showing the Guardian that. By interrogating, it sounds like torture for information since it's talking about how the circumstances were identical and involved knives.

Even if not true, good read OP.
-
Which card is it?
-
Considering you didn't include the entire context of the card yes it does seem that way. But if you include the rest of the text it tells a different story. Nice try. GG ty come agaimln

This makes sense, given that we know Dredgen Yor, Thorn's original owner, gave in to the Darkness and it gave him a new form, one in which he was not himself anymore (Not a direct quote, See Thorn Grimoire cards). This is further backed by the Thorn bounty strike where one must destroy Thorn's original owner to which it is bound: Xyor, or Ex-Yor. Also, Osiris mentions in the Shrine of Oryx mission that the production of the Hive cannot be stopped, but can be slowed. If the Shrine of Oryx is a form of Darkness used to transform Guardians to Hive, this exposition would back your theory.

Edited by Romulus Kane: 10/17/2014 1:55:30 PMI saw that hive can corrupt ghosts in one of the grimoire cards. Also the maddening of the original bearer of Thorn I believe the hive is responsible for. Also I believe this wasn't from the guardian but the torture of the dead ghost we find in the mission during the dark beyond.

It's master Raoul. There is a cave with some charred hive remains. When you touch them it says "a million deaths are not enough for master Raoul"
-
SO the hive are basically the flood
-
The Hive Thralls look a lot like dregs, can fallen.. Fallen be part of the hive too?
-
Now I feel even worse about how long I spent at the loot cave... :(
-
Not as disturbing as that underwater midget granny clown bondage I watched last night
-
Edited by Vaneera: 10/17/2014 7:58:42 AMI thought this was fairly obvious, what with the massive piles of human remains everywhere. Edit: Thralls are Hunters, all they know how to do is melee.
-
No dude. I personally think that it's saying that the wizard and the guardian are alike because they both tortured someone for information. The guardian tortured the wizard, the Wizard tortured the awoken man
-
Knights could be Titans
-
I assumed as much, when you kill a knight and his face/mask falls off it kinda looks like a human skeleton underneath.
-
Or the hive was still the hive but the traveler went to there planet first n gave them the power of light to help them out but they wanted more power from the traveler so that why they r trying hunt the traveler. Just a idea lol
-
I would love that to be true. GIVE ME STORY MEOW!!!
-
What? Where did it say that? Also, that doesn't mean they're guardians. Could just mean they're human, awoken, exo, or something. Or even after the same thing, or whatever. Considering Bungie lacked in the story department, it could mean anything at all.
