Where Destiny fails

To start, I had respect for Bungie as developer. They were a great company that listened to their fans and produced great games that were far more enjoyable than anything else out there. I'm using past tense for a reason. Destiny has more than enough potential to keep that going and here is where the hardcore fans are going to be mad. Destiny is a bad game right now and here's where I believe they went wrong. 1: No communication. This is supposed to be a social game for the casual gamer. Where's the social part? No chat channels, no looking for group settings and worst of all, getting a group of randoms to be able to talk on mic even when they all have one is a giant pain. Come to think of it, where's the casual gamer part? That brings me to: 2: Not for the casual gamer. Yes, you can do the strikes. Yes, you can do the less than memorable story. But that leaves out the weekly heroic, nightfall and raid. You have to have a group of friends who can do it with you. Yes, I know there's forums. Yes I know there's destinylfg. Yes, I've used them. But if you are a casual gamer, as this game claims it's for, you simply don't have the time to find a group to do the raid. Disagree all you want, but every truly casual gamer will agree with this. Casuals lose out on a -lot- of content and -all- the endgame. If you don't like the idea of matchmaking for the harder stuff, I have the answer for you. Don't use matchmaking. Keep doing it the way you want, but why not include it for those who want it? 3: Drop tables. People would farm the cave for hours(Sounds like a job instead of a game to me) instead of actually playing a game. This caused bungie to change the drop tables to ridiculously low drop rates and caused your casual gamer even more frustration. Even the raid is frustrating(drop wise) for a large amount of the community. I've posted about that before and I know I'm not the only one who has experienced this. I have done the raid 3 times and am now the not so proud possessor of 3 chatterwhites. Really? I don't even use the first one I received. I did get a pair of gloves, but for the amount of time and effort put in, I don't really see that as reasonable. 4: Lieing and just not caring. Bungie recently released Iron Banner where level and defense is supposed to matter. Does it? I certainly doubt it.
http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/72084843/0/0
^ This is a link to another forum post where a level 4 used the starting gun and went 15/3 in iron banner. I mean, really Bungie? On top of that, Bungie has clearly shown it really doesn't care what it's fans have to say. I have yet to see them implement any changes that have to do with any criticism they have received and there certainly has been plenty of it. I've even seen usable solutions posted, but Bungie doesn't really seem all that interested in using the potential Destiny clearly has. I've made it a point that casuals have no place here based on what bungie seems to be doing and yet Bungie was advertised as a game for casual players. An outright lie. Insult me(Won't care), Disagree(For you hardcore fans), or just keep playing a game all about doing the same stuff over and over. It won't change my mind or the fact that I have no intention of playing destiny until Bungie get's their head out of their ***** and listens to their fan base this game was supposed to be for. The casuals. And for those of you who are farming the new loot caves, get a real job or enjoy the game. Quit ruining it for the rest of the community. Can you really say you'll enjoy this game for 10 years if Bungie decides to continue with this game the way they are? Yes, I know someone is going to say something like, "We won't miss you." If you plan on saying something along those lines, go ahead and show the world just how ignorant you are in supporting a game company that has stopped caring about the players. Show all the game companies that they can continue to put forward minimal effort for maximum profit and watch game quality continue to slip. The only thing I have left to say is for Bungie. You were a great company. If you want to be able to continue being a great company, listen to your consumer base and make Destiny the great game I know it can be. I would be more than happy to pay twice the $60 pricetag this game came with if you do and then some.
