Played about 4 or 5 games of Iron Banner yesterday for my first experience and all of them were join in progress games. Why are people leaving? Only scumbags do that. Don't be a scumbag. I got completely owned in the join in progress games but still managed a positive K/D and I didn't leave. Why would you leave your team? You only care about yourselves? That's the one thing that really bothers me about multiplayer games. People will always leave you. Like why the hell would you play PvP in the first place if all you can manage is leaving your team behind? Guardian SCUM. There's no place for the likes of you in the Crucible or Iron Banner! Let alone the Tower! We fight for pride and glory! Guardians like you don't deserve to be called Guardians! Milk drinkers! Leave your mothers breasts!
EDIT 1: Last bit was a joke. Relax. A lot of people got butt hurt.
EDIT 2: To be clear, this post is not directed to people who get disconnected.

when i play in Iron Banner and i get put on a team that has three people vs a full team of 6... i bring my team out of the ashes and help them kick ass. and my team almost always wins when this happens
-
I quit iron banner for medical reasons, I would've had a brain haemorrhage if I had continued any longer.

Edited by wigriffin: 10/12/2014 6:29:33 AMPeople fight for rep, which doesn't come to the losers. I could care less about lord whatshisnuts' purple crap, so I stay in the fight, but I understand why people would leave if their team is losing by a large margin.

In the beta days Iron Banner was actually pretty fun. I think that if you decide to leave the Iron Banner, leave your team because of your selfishness, you should be marked with like a quitter sign floating above your head and be punished with 10 Rep points being taken from your Iron Banner reputation circle thingy, just a thought though
-
I left quite a few times because IB was incredibly laggy. Unloading an AR clip into someones face just to have them stab you 3 seconds later with no health gone is pretty anoyying.
-
iron banner is bull.. level 11s one hitting me.. ?? explain lol.
-
I saw a guy run the iron banner and score 7800 points on his own, his team only won by around 1k points... goes tp show you how one person can shift the entire momentum of a game js..
-
I usually leave when i join a team that is losing cause i gain nothing in staying unless finishing up a bounty. I just need 12 more wins till rank 3 :D #nolife
-
Every single game, people on my team leave. Hodor.
-
I tried doing the iron banner with my fresh level 20 hunter wearing green and blue gears. My K/D was 0.06. I didn't leave despite my poor performance but if I had it probably would have been a service to my team...
-
When I'm 4000 points on the scoreboard of the game and notice 1-2 afkers and 4-5 feeders with 300 points 10 minutes into the game, I realize I have better things to do. Like start another match. 3 marks is not worth another 5-10 mins of my time. Deal with it.
-
Half of these are caused by the no rep gain for a loss, the other half are from the unstable servers.
-
I have yet to leave an iron banner game but I can see why others are doing it.. Bungie rewards you with nothing for losing. Why waste time on a non-rewarding losing team in a limited time event when people can just simply exit and try again?
-
Should make it so you can't leave
-
It shows the make up of our current society. Instead of finishing what they start people feel entitled to prizes for participation. How can you lose and complain about not being rewarded? Losing doesn't deserve a reward. The game gives you crucible marks and regular rep. You can lose in the IB and be rewarded as a winner. SMH. Soft as society.

They seriously need to time their armor vs damage engine. I just saw a lvl 7 burn away a level 28 Titan with a fusion rifle in one shot, but when I (lvl 28 lock) scorched the lvl 7, I had to hit him twice. No other game lets someone twenty below live like that, ESPECIALLY Iron Banner. Lameness.

Because most of the people who play the iron banner are: 1: High levels who got totally -blam!-ed over by bungie when they decided to take the "Iron Banner" out of the Iron Banner and replace it with Crucible Control playlist with rep for a specific faction IF you win. Making it a complete screw over once you realize that level 8 is running around shotgun/melee spamming his way to a 4+ kdr against level 28-30's 2: People trying to actually EARN rep for the Iron banner, not get screwed over by how absolutely terrible and downright almost unplayable PvP is with how retarded the balancing(or lack thereof) is. You only earn rep if you win in the iron banner, so they leave and try to join a different lobby as to not waste their time with a losing game and actually rank up the faction instead. 3: Recently rage quit a game because of how bad a cluster -blam!- it was with the enemy team spamming everything that is the-next-level of overpowered and/or camping harder than living at a campground 24/7 365 days a year. They came back and the first game they get put into is a team that isn't even trying to win by the seems of it, rather suiciding into the enemy in human/exo/emo-homosexual-flamboyantly stupid awoken waves. They rage quit again. 4: They are not in the mood for shotgun/melee spamming skrubz and rage quit again. Srsly if your only tactic in pvp is to spam overpowered crap you need to git gud. I pull out a shotgun in close range combat sure. I melee if close combat sure. But running around with a shotgun out 90% of the game spamming slides and halo jumps so you can shotgun/melee spam everything just makes you look like a skrublord. Especially since it doesn't mean jack shit when the rewards are handed out how good you did that game. Thanks bungie. 5.They keep watching utter scrubs with negative kdr win exotic weapons because bungie has "fixed" the reward system(Destiny seems to be being built on a tower of lies now hasn't it?). I've seen 4 exotic weapons in the past 2 days get handed out to people who have below 0.47 KDR(That was the highest I recorded ffs). I won Timur's Lash after dominating a game and getting up to a 13 kill streak, but jesus -blam!- I'm just going to get 0.0 kdr for all future games with how terrible the reward system is at this rate. Timur's lash actually sucks pretty hard. Those are just some of quite possible many reasons.

In my case, I mostly see team mates completely ignore capping points and do their own thing. If they want to play tdm on control mode they can do it without me. I'll find a game where people actually care about winning. To add insult insult to injury I can't even tell these slackers they're screwing up because there's no voice chat without partying. GG
-
You said "udder-ly" Hehe
-
Because it's a copy of control :)
-
The problem isn't that people are leaving, the problem is that everyone on the losing team doesn't leave. I joined a game yesterday with one dude in it and it was 8000 to 1000, c'mon, the game is over just give it up. If that one guy would've just left the other team could get their reputation and be on their way and the lame who stayed could get onto his next match.
-
They can decorate themselves with fancy helmet and armor but behind those steel lies a character with no integrity.

Edited by Marquis_Nikola: 10/12/2014 4:43:49 AMI have to say today I was playing crucible with a friend and I wouldn't blame them. It started me and him then a friend joined then another and so on until we had a full squad. I must say it was the must horrific sight I have seen. It was a massacre! We were holding all points in various moments and guarding them very well that some people just would leave. But that's not the point there was a point where there was this group of randoms that wouldn't leave they were loosing by a land slide but they stayed there and still fought with all the might they could they lost but had our respect not only they never left till the end they stayed for a few matches more. This is why I say those guardians are the BAMFs of my day. So any way remember fight with honnor and might and as always see you in the verse fellow guardians.
-
Actually I think it's good let the scrubs leave, I played many games were we were able to come back and win the game
-
Well, you don't get any Iron Banner rep for losing... but the big problem is, it's pretty easy to lose at Control on certain maps. Firebase Delphi is a key example, as the map tends to favor whoever spawns on Zone A; that team has a distinct advantage in terms of terrain if they're going for Zone B. The result is you're basically set up to fail if you're part of the team that spawns on Zone C. Then, there's the Vex Mythoclast. A weapon with power that was only justified by its rarity... except, suddenly it's become a lot more common. I'm beginning to wonder if some people are obtaining this weapon through illegitimate means... hacking, modding, whatever. I'm just saying. you'd think the odds of meeting an opposing team with 3 players using the Vex Mythoclast would be very slim...
