I like the idea just the way it's written. Though, I'd use the Press and Hold option, rather than double tapping. Even in the worst case scenario, if they just let us customize the 4 emotes buttons we have, it'd be much better. That way I could THANK someone who just saved me, or be able to let them know I'm on the way to revive them, ect. I want my emotes to be more practical when I'm in the field.
Games, such as Castlevania Harmony of Despair had a chat-wheel, and was used extensively. Even a game like Earth Defense Force: 2025 has a HUGE amount of emotes that are available. And even though EDF's list is a bit cumbersome, I still manage to use it while under fire, and convey what needs to be said to all of the Non-Mic players out there.
