Your theory was just astounding! I really loved it and I frankly would love to have your plot as a plot twist down the road. If Bungie's theory is unsavory.
I was reading the comments and somebody left a post of the traveler and said it was a "vessel" of sorts. The point I was trying to get across, (well at this point its more of a wish for you to add onto your theory) is if the traveler is a spore pod, then what is it "feeding" on?? The ghosts feed on us, but what does the traveler feed on??

Pods do not feed my friend. Hence why it sits lifeless above us. Its basically a car without any passengers now, however thats not to say the ghosts cant hop back in and drive away after some refueling And who knows, maybe the Core is inside - an equivalent to a sleeping Gravemind from Halo

Thats what I wanted to know. According to bungie the traveler created the ghosts but to create the ghosts it must have needed some sort of sustenance. The core? Say it is the equivalent to a sleeping gravemind, what did it feed on while "awake?" The way I see it is the ghosts feed on the masses while the core must feed on something greater. The planet itself perhaps??
