I have faith and am pumped for the game.. but this time around, you have to understand, its going to be completely different. Most of the community was built around halo 2-3 and reach. this game is a new ip, its not based around multiplayer or customization of playing (if that makes sense). Bungies story lines have always been good, but they were never the main focus of the games as they are pushed to be now. Destiny wont have custom lobbies at launch, which makes it so hard for the community to take hold of the game and create things that develop fun and casual ways to play the game (zombies! Hide and Seek, races, only snipers/only rockets, ect) as well as the other end of the spectrum; hardcore styles( ranked MM, or MLG playlist styles.). They limit chat availability, making it hard to make friends like so many of us did back in halo 2-3 and makes it hard to feel like you are actually in a game that millions of players are playing. They have a new system and its not mmo nor competitive fps and people used those types of games (WoW, Guild Wars, Halo, CoD) who love those aspects of those games might feel that Destiny wont have the aspects that they love and are devoted to to the extent that they are used to (these aspects are Raids, Competitive/Ranked MM, communication/cooperation) and so I think many people are worried.. Not to mention, bungie has changed in small ways, but critical ones.. I just hope that they still care about all sides of the community and not just the middle of the bell curve they are looking at to make profits. When we look back on it, what made halo 2 actually probably the greatest bungie game? it wasnt the graphics, it wasnt the story, it wasnt even the fact that it was the first online fps on the xbox.. I love the dynamics of it, the problems with it even.. the fact that there were ranks and this hierarchy in the community gave people on the low end a sense of ambition and wonder and the people on the high end a sense of power and recognition. the glitches were seen as "problems" when the community seen them as "skills" BXR, BXB, RRXYY.., rocket/sword glitch, sniper/sword glitch, warthog ghost glitch, SUPERBOUNCING, just everything added to the dynamics of the game and created a mysterious feel, like wondering what could happen next. those were the things that made the game interesting and enjoyable.. and even the people who complained about the ranks were obviously intrigued with them.. but games arent like that anymore and never will be.. they are getting more glitch-free and being more "limited" in a sense of what we can do as a community.
