Hypothetically, if I have a friends list with no one interested in playing Destiny then I can't play and talk with anyone, or I have to accept friend invites from strangers without vetting them first, if I can talk to someone in game I can at least vet them before adding them to my friends list. Am I right or wrong in saying this?
This game will fail if you can only be social with the people you know. Bungie defines social as segregation. How can you have total control over social engagement when you have no control?

Gazzaho, I am not being a wise guy, but, where ya been? You are correct. There is no way to vet anyone in the game. If you keep asking here in the forums you will hear " use the forums, that's why they push clans in the forums, join a clan" Keep surfing the #feedback and #Destiny posts. You will see more debate on the communication then you may like to read. Many of us feel the same. It is a flaw, we hope they change. Good luck, good hunting

I wasn't asking the question as much as using it as a way of highlighting the inability to vet the screaming 11 year olds in order to set up a non existing FireTeam. The fact that I have to use a friends list should be my choice, the same with joining a clan. I don't want to have to arrange with friends or clan members every time I want to partake in the social part of the game. As it stands now when the single player missions are finished so am I, there simply isn't enough incentive for me to play with restrictions that can easily be rectified with a little thought ans a mute all toggle.
