Halo Tournaments...

....specifically, your favorite. What and where was it? Was their anything in particular that made it so much fun or were your 1337 sKi11z just on fire? If you have never been to a Halo Tournaments before, why? Just so you know, I have put on a couple of Halo Tournaments here and there and am trying to get som ideas together for some future event. There seems to be a different breed of player here at B.net so I thought I would get some dynamic input. Thanks guys!

 • I've never held a Halo LAN party. But I've bin to loads because my mate has great facilities. Big TVs, nearby friend with an XBOX, copy of Halo and 8 controllers. I made a team match with every type of game. (Slayer, CTF, Oddball, King of the Hill and Race). They have good options and selections and everyone loves the matches. For ALL games we always use the same amount of players (4 vs 4). 1 team per XBOX and each team in a room. We play one game of each type at every LAN party. Each game type match is played on the same map (for example, CTF is always on Sidewinder and Oddball is always on Hang 'em High). So all together we play 5 games. For these 5 games we record the amounts of deaths and kills. We've had 10 LAN parties so now we have a pretty solid score board. We don't just play 5 games per party, we play loads more. We only record those 5 custom matches so we can see who's the best at the SAME game.

 • We play at a place called The Wreck Room in Columbia, Missouri. Probably one of the best games to play with a team of 5 on 5 would have to be Flag Snipe. We usually play CTF Hang Em' High and everyone has snipers, but the catch is that it's no touch return on the flags. You definately get a rush with all the sniper streams flying past you!

 • So do you guys have tournaments at these facilities or are they more or less gaming centers?

 • The last time I played a Halo tourney/multiplayer, was in Spokane WA, and there sixteen people, four Xboxs, and it was Slayer every man for himself. For eight hours straight. Except my friends sister who happened to be my girlfriend, I had to not kill her, and avenge her deaths. It sucked because she died. Alot. Luckily, she gave up after about two hours. Yay! Most fun, ever. Next to that time that I gave my neighbors goat some beer, but I'll tell you people about that later

 • Me and my boys throw LAN parties on average once or twice a month and we'll play anything from regular slayer and team slayer to the wild invisible no shields, and unlimited grenades type games all without indicators or radar. Its all good fun and we'll play from about 8pm-6 or 7am usually on a weekend. We just use one of our apartments unless we can find an open house with family out of town (those are the best). But the most fun I had recently was at an EB Games tournament here in Chicago. It was fun for my and my brother to whoop on complete strangers that are all talk and soooo cocky. I recomend it to anyone. The set-up was weak, 2 systems 2 screens, 4 people per screen right next to each other. Playing free-for-all it was fun to whomp on strangers but by the time the Finals came around everybody would just gangbang us and then fight each other. That kind of made me mad, but they said it was the only way to win. I guess they're right but thats no fun. Anyways actual organized open to the public tournaments are a lot of fun and you should all try it out just to silence all those people out there who think they are the best who really arent even descent, Its the best feeling in the world, I swear haha
