That's a faulty generalisation on her part (the part about how men think and act more superior). What was the reasoning for your laughter? If it was in the context that she jumped to conclusions, then yeah, you're in the right. Anyone has any right to judge a person's clothing, in this case, the older man just happened to be more vociferous about it. Was he right about it? That's debatable (and would require a longer write-up).
Now, had the older man said that her wardrobe was grounds for men to be more inclined to -blam!- her, then he'd definitely be in the wrong. Even a nude woman, walking down the street is never grounds for -blam!- a woman...
Even cat-calling is a stupid nuisance, and however a woman dresses is never grounds to cat call someone... In the end though, some men will stare, can it be helped, not always. How they react however, is completely on them.
Also, unless if the teacher said ahead of time that points would be taken off for interruptions, it would appear that the taking off of points was a form of sexism...
