Actually, you're almost correct. Yes it is excellent, but it doesn't have proximity. You can talk to someone at the bottom edge while you're at the top edge. Unless there is some proximity chat option idk about.

Maybe that's an additional setting? A friend and I found at times that it appeared to be in proximity. Maybe it was a glitch.

Yeah idk. I just know I was talking to this guy when I was at the top of map and he was in the big airport.
