Its because its a role playing game your guardian does not have to to be a spitting image of you maybe people like the smaller build because the want a ninja character
Others because the just want too why do males choose a male character do you like looking at a man constantly? I don't that's why I choose a female they are more appealing to me and my play style. And I don't think people should be called names based upon there play style. Rant over

Edited by Zackai: 8/26/2014 9:01:26 AMAs a straight male, who is also combat arms in the Army, and a bodybuilder... I typically create female characters for mmo type games, or any game where I am playing anything other than 1st person 24/7. Why? Because I enjoy the female figure far more than the male figure, and since I rarely ever self identify with my character, I have no issues playing a female one. If it's a game where I want to feel like the character should embody me, then I will absolutely play as a male. But starring at a males backside for hundreds of hours does not sound pleasing to my eyes... But starring at a female figure for hundreds of hours, while making it look more and more badass... WIN! just my humble opinion, as someone who gets asked this question all the time.

For me, I've been given the tools to create my own story character, as if I was writing a book, how boring would that story be with only men running around. My toons aren't a wishful representation of myself, they are crafted characters with their own personalities. I have male and female toons on many different games.

I will pick a female human hunter because what's better than a badass woman who kicks ass as an assassin
-
Yea I just enjoying watching a chick become a badass and wreck stuff. So sue me. ;). No gender confusion here.
-
I don't understand why this topic is important to people. Who cares, be whatever you want.
-
I chose a female titan and warlock because they just looked more badass than the male version. But I mostly played as a male Hunter tho. The female Hunter looks weird to me Idk why.
-
In my play style I see women more as a stealth class and men more as a tank you can see this in movies and video games maybe not all the time but most the time
-
Do you happen to be in the apex guardians clan? Just wondering because your name is apex
-
I make female characters cuz yes for role playing and stuff but I'm doing a RWBY sorta tribute for Destiny Female Awoken or Human Hunter: Ruby Rose Female Human Titan: Yang Xiao Long XD

Edited by Kohitsuji: 8/26/2014 2:58:43 PMIf I have to look at a character for millions of hours of gameplay, I'd rather have something nice to look at. Even back in classic Resident Evil days I would always pick Jill or Claire first.

The true reason why males pick female avatars is for the ass, we know we know but though... some males pick female avatars to get free stuff from people, as seen in many mmo games, but not in Destiny guess why NO trading system MUHAHAHAHA Enjoy working for the money xD

I don't think I've ever played as a female character when I had the option to. I feel like the hitbox is probably the same, but I can see where the smaller figure would be harder to spot in certain situations. What has always bothered me in social games and games where trading is allowed (WoW) I have seen a large number of guys make female characters just to manipulate other guys into giving them loot and whatnot. It's extremely effective and pretty slimy, but if you haven't figured out half the "girls" on the Internet are really guys by now then you deserve to be duped I guess. Anyways I say whatever floats your boat.

Your guardian also does not have to not be a spitting image of you. Role playing game. Play whatever role you want, even of it is putting a version of you into the game universe. I like being myself, personally, but I'm not gonna knock others for choosing a different persona.
-
There's a great new invention. It's called commas. I agree with the topic, but seriously...
-
No one cares. Do you man. You don't have to defend your choices.
-
aww good old D&D roleplaying day's also..http://youhaveautism.com/

as I will be playing this game with my wife I control and she watches the story of the game we try to make the character as much like her as possible looks wise have done this for quite a while.

I know of some who pick female chars because they feel they have been "worked" more on, like they took more time to make them look good, but for me it just feels better playing as a male since I am a male :P But each to hey're prefernces. Why jugde just because someone rather wants to play as a female char ;) I don't see ppl complaining that girls are playing as mal chars :P
-
I went female on destiny beta because well me and Yeshua dont have a Huge build and Huge heads so i went a african girl and she looked cute dancing lol we had dancing party's yeahhh ^_^ on the tower area it was cool ho i miss it...

Edited by BrilliantSunShine: 8/26/2014 12:36:40 PMFor me, it "feels"like the hit box for the female character is smaller. I find it much easier to hit a male character since they are so beefy. Plus, there are those guys who don't hit girls so we can take full advantage if them in the Crusible.

Girl Power!! Pum pum pumkin Magic!!

I don't think nothing of it, but for me it doesn't work. Don't know what it is but it just doesn't feel as right as playing as a male. But, if I could only pick females, I'd go with that because its not that important.
-
Or maybe it's because I like to pretend that I'll be kidnapped by a fallen captain and he'll make me his wife.

Edited by LUK4S: 8/26/2014 11:07:21 AMIn other words, youre a virgin! Lol, im joking. Why do you even care what others think? Be your own man or woman, dont let others tell you what to do (unless your being a dick, that is!)

Hey, for sure, don't say "do you like looking at a man constantly?". Maybe somebody does, so what? If you want to pick a female character, cool. But you don't have to be an Apex A-hole about it.
