If they cap at 30 then I'm sure there will be a "prestige" or something along those lines that allows you to progress your character beyond the limits of the level cap. It not an uncommon practice in MMO games that need to keep subscriber and players interested in playing after hitting the cap.

It doesn't really need that because we'll be getting new gear and taking it into the crucible. Not to mention new story missions and strikes from dlc. One thing destiny has that other MMO's don't have is bungie multiplayer. That will really lengthen the game.
-
Lol the term PvP comes from MMORPGs guy. It means player versus player. MMO and MOBA players are not new to competitive multiplayer. That shit is older than Bungie is.
-
I didn't say there wasn't pvp in mmo's. I said they've never had Bungie pvp. People are still playing halo without all the rpg elements attached.
-
Cuz no one that plays WoW also plays Halo. Yeah, I totally forgot about the law that says your only allowed to play one genre of games. -facepalm-

You clearly don't comprehend what I'm saying and you're being awfully argumentative. WoW is an MMO. So its pvp is attached to an rpg system. I don't understand why you brought it up. Halo is not. Halo is fun to play without the incentive of loot and xp and whatever other rpg rewards. Combine bungie multiplayer with an rpg reward system and you get a ton of longevity. Comprende?

Hmm a prestige in a mmo style game? I haven't heard of that but who knows and certainly any is a possibility with Bungie as they are scarce with details but thanks for your opinion. How long do you think it will take you to reach lvl 30 and 20?
-
It's not a MMO by any means. Lobby's (maps and gameplay areas) can't contain more than 16 players at a time. Not even close to Massively multiplayer online = MMO MMOs usually have about 200 people or more in a playable area at once. This is a "Shared world shooter" as Bungie calls it. It may not be called "prestige" but some sort of progression beyond the base level caps is usually done in both FPS games and MMOs. You have to have something that keeps them playing and for a lot of gamers. Making their character "better" is what's bringing them back to play everyday.

[Sigh] I never called it a MMO. It's obviously clear Bungie don't want it defined as a MMO(I really shouldn't have to clarify myself but whatever) as they have said in numerous occasions that it is a shared world shooter. I said a mmo style game in the sense that it you can do raids and your running through dungeons, completing missions with strangers. It's painfully obvious to anyone that this game is actually missing a lot of things to make it a full fledged MMO. I wasn't asking you what is this game classified as nor was i stating this game is a MMO. You still never answered questions in the original post. Let's stick to the topic of the thread if you want to be a helpful participant.
