Character Creation is KILLING me!
Yes. It's true. A huge thing for me in games is the customization. And I cannot start the game until I am 100% in love with how my character looks. I need him to be unique and in my head fit how I myself would like to be as a guardian (as childish as that may sound) Hell, even in the beta I had to start over three or four times haha. I just cannot quit thinking about this F------ game and how I'm going to make my final character. ( I don't like making multiple ones) I love the Exo's but the awoken also look nice. The humans are also an option that never gets old. I wish there was some kind of preview generator for characters. God something is wrong with me.. I love you bungie... I hate you bungie..

12 Repliesnot trying to offend, but in this game character creation is meaningless. Why do you ask, well unless you are going to be in the tower 100% of the time you are playing then whats the point. That is the only time you or anyone will see your characters face. Just sayin.

I feel ya completely! My friends always got annoyed with me in halo because i spent so much time on my spartan XD i spent a good 45 minutes just making my guardian in the beta lol

1 ReplyI'm just glad our Beta chars are getting wiped..my Awoken Titan ended up looking like Captain Planet, with his red and white armor, blue skin and green hair..but my final char will be an Exo, cuz I really like the way they look..

8 RepliesI spent the majority of my time on the beta creating a character getting through to the first cutscene just to check what they look like in a cutscene. You think you have a good setup only to be dissapointed by how it looks in a cutscene. I even managed to get an awoken male to look the way I like only to witness something in the tower that has put me off them forever. [spoiler]Awoken wave emote is to basically bend over, human version is to actually wave... Now have a male awoken constantly "waving" then have another human male "waving" right behind him... Can't take awoken seriously now.[/spoiler]

I liked the last character I made in the beta. It was an male exo warlock. I tried every race and every class during the alpha and the beta and I knew I wanted to be a warlock but I didn't know what race. I think I'm gonna make an exo on xb1 and a human on ps4. I think the exo is the most customisable. The humans are rather bland but I'm hoping they put in more hair styles and facial hair. I will make two exos if they don't put in facial hair.

2 RepliesIf you've ever played some other MMO's and/or Skyrim you will realize that the character customization in Destiny is somewhat lacking. While there is quite a bit of freedom when it comes to choosing how you look we do miss out on some things due to preset looks. What I mean by this is that the noses (IIRC) are all preset, and you cannot choose their Width/length/height. The same applies to facial features and such. Don't get me wrong I do like all the customization features they currently have in Destiny, but I just feel like it isn't as in-depth as other games'.

You'll either be in first person or be wearing armor that covers you entirely in third person. Such as the Elder Scrolls games. It's not whether you can see it, it's whether you feel YOU are the hero and not a pre-made character. It's all aesthetic and holds no consequence...so this post is honestly a waste of time. However better customization would be great anyways despite the useless feel of it. [spoiler](BEEEEEEARDS)[/spoiler]

2 RepliesYou cant see the back of the head nor zoom out. these options would really help. Especially because in tower i am always looking at the back of my guardians head..... Yea i deleted and made about 5-6 characters to see what they would look like in tower.

4 RepliesI wonder if somewhere along the way (the game's life is supposed to be a decade) we won't get an opportunity to alter appearances. I thought it might be cool to age the character over time. I'm the same way. I thought I made my guardian look awesome just to go to the tower and hate him/her. I would really love more choices for everything, but since that probably won't happen, at least give me beards and better lighting in the character creation screen. Also let me rotate my character, I need to make sure I like the back for my Guardian's head since that is what I'll be looking at most of the time.

As for myself I like huge range of options, very few games have I been able to see the possiblity to make my perfect character - the only 2 games that I've seen reach that level is Dragon's Dogma (I have played it a lot) & FFXIV: ARR (I haven't played FFXIV: ARR due to it's extra unneccessary sub fee but I did see online it's character creation system & it's crazy)

1 ReplyI picked a male Awoken Hunter. The Awoken remind me of Tolkien elves, so I went with pale blue skin to give him that glowing effect the elves can have, and super dark blue hair for a more Destiny feel. Plus blue skin and red hair looks disgusting haha. Finally, bright yellow eyes to make it like the light of the Eldar is still in him. First try, I got my favorite character in a long time for a video game. Mind you I spend a good 20min making one of each race to see what they can look like before making an Awoken regardless. :P If nothing changes for the character creation on release (Some more options that aren't so blatantly anime would be awesome though), I'm gonna make him look exactly like my Beta Hunter. Cause to me, they will be the same Guardian.

What do you mean preview generator? You can do all you need to do from character creation. They just need to let you rotate your character. Not that that matter either since the customization is so limited anyways there were less options than some free to play games.
