Fundamental Flaw in the OVERALL Game

Legendary Gold Exotic gear limit shouldn't exist.

Legendary Gold Exotic gear limit should stay

You have a different system idea for LGE gear.

20

Most of us are already aware of how the GEAR equipment system will work thanks to gaming magazines, YouTubers, what we have heard from Bungie directly, and our own time in the Alpha and Beta for Destiny. The way it works is we are able to collect as much Legendary Gold Exotic GEAR weapons and armor as we want and some of them will allow us to taste the elusive fruit of "Double Dipping" perks for our Super abilities. However we are limited to equipping only one Legendary Gold Exotic weapon and armor piece (EACH), in both regular story oriented gameplay modes and competitive multiplayer. YouTuber Rick Kackis just posted a video on this today to talk about this and why Bungie did this as a way to nerf multiplayer to make it more fair and was a generally good idea in this one aspect. But also about how they needlessly applied this to the story oriented gameplay! I've posted his video here so everybody can hear his solid argument for why this was a unneeded terrible fundamental design flaw in the game, especially BUNGIE. I know your reading DeeJ. If any of you are thinking about saying that this is just another issue that will take to many "MONTHS" of development to implement in a patch at launch. You should wait until you hear Rick's full argument and solution to this presented in full. You can still try and say your opinion of how it likely can't be done after you've watched but your arguments are going to sound pretty damn hollow given the solution is so easy it's stupid. If anyone wants to help make a change to this issue make sure to leave a comment on this thread, leave a LIKE on Rick's video which I've left a link to below to show your support for his argument and solution, and tweet to Bungie like Rick asks us to and complain with constructive criticism about this issue. Remember feel free to voice your opinions about the good and bad, but be logical. Here's the link to the channel KackisHD video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TsvghHY1_Rs

    • Watched the video. I disagree with a few points. First of all, I don't think his information is correct. Find me where Bungie says "We limited you to one Exotic piece of armor and one Exotic weapon at once because of Crucible/Competitive Multiplayer". I don't think they've said that anywhere, and he's basing a lot of his hate on that "fact" that I think doesn't exist anywhere. Now, if we want to have a calm discussion about why it's this way, here's my reasoning. Please, keep in mind, not a single person here has had the chance to use an exotic so we're basing this all on theory crafting, but here it is. Have you seen some of the pieces of Exotic gear? The amount of bonuses they give are extraordinary. 3-4 buffs on them, plus a huge tree of sub upgrades to get. I mean, they're insane. They are head, and shoulders, above Legendary equipment. Agreed? Well, to keep balance in PvE, would you rather have one Exotic that is absolutely off the charts, and the rest Legendary which is still nothing to blow off. Or, would you prefer to have all exotics that are a little better than Legendaries? To me, I'd rather have an Exotic and pick and choose gear around them. I mean, if you'd like the Exotics to be less powerful, but more plentiful, so you can have "all golds because that's super important" then by all means, you have your right to your opinion. But to keep balance in PvE, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

    • Why does their need to be a "solution"? What is wrong with limiting exotic gear? The Crucible is not a separate game. It's another part of Destiny. It is meant for your character to seamlessly transition between all parts of the game world. What you want basically segregates the game world, just so you can wear full exotic sets in PvE. (And for what? So you can feel like a badass going easy mode on the AI?)

      • That guy in the video doesn't know what he's talking about and his arguments are invalid. Full exotic would be just as OP in PvE as PvP. His solution is stupid, and his complaint that you're "done after getting just one gold gun" is ludicrous.

        • One of the reasons behind only being able to equip one gold armor and one gold gun is to further develop a balanced character, multiplayer and campaign. If you are limited to one than that is going to leave you to finding out which combination works best. Its like having an ever changing way to build and customize your character beyond the subclasses and its one of the things that creates a higher replay value. If you can binge on destiny till your fully gold-out, then how many hours beyond that point will you play? Most people will be like "I've done it all" and move on to other games. However, having the gear drop more limited and making it to where you have to balance your character with select gear opens up a higher replay value in learning the difference between all that gear and changing the way you think and play. You can have all that equipment in your inventory and swap out pieces for ones your wearing, giving up something great for something else great. Think of it like swapping between your rocket launcher, shotgun, and sniper. They are all great weapons but perform completely different, if you could equip them all at the same time than there is no planning needed for the raid to come, the raid looses part of what makes it challenging, and there is no longer a specific role you are playing. Because there is no specific role, there's no reason to go back and do it playing a different role for a new experience. I know you could always swap out 2 different gold helms if another dropped (for example) if you were completely decked out in gold, but what they are saying is "if we limit this and make you choose we are presenting you with more playing options with a limited set of gear" vs "developing more gear to keep people playing" which would be a constant development project making new gold items that would eventually lead to older golden items not being as awesome as newer golden items. Thus defeating the whole idea behind them all being something epic.

          • Think lge items are super good so having more than one would make u super good online and on pve , it literally make the whole game unfair and not fun,it would be too easy ,when u are full lge , but only one would make u play more and balance out

            • I disagree with him. It has nothing to do with PvP and PvE. It is how the armor and weapon exotics effect the class, effect your build. They are like adding addition slots on your class tree. So they want you to make strategic choices in how your character plays and what role you play in a group.

Having such things transparent between PvE and PvP is of high importance to me. Why should anyone be allowed to equip a full set of exotic gear and be godlike in PvE, then have to remove 3 pieces of armour and 2 weapons to play PvP. It has just as much potential to ruin others PvE experiences as it does a PvP experience. It's fine how it is IMO

              • I've had some time to let the news sink in (after finding out only a few hours ago) and although I was extremely bummed out, the logic is there. I initially felt as if I wouldn't be allowed to wear that favorite pair of sneakers along with a shirt and pants I was also proud to wear. However, I do believe that there will (or should) be a strong pursuit for legendary gear that will continue to feed our hunger. My only concern is that a lot of the legendary gear I've seen greatly resembles the basic, lower tier weapons/armor. If the legendaries can establish a more unique appeal, I think we'll all be happy campers. Exotics are supposed to be "exotic" for a reason. Too many of us will choose the golden route and leave purps in the dust. Think of exotics as that expensive watch that sets your outfit apart. Style in Destiny is shown more through the paths we take with corresponding gear. Bungie doesn't want us to have a clear choice. Welcome to the wild! PS. Im assuming exotic capes (etc.) and emblems are fair game. I'd be really disappointed if there were limitations on those as well..

              • I completely disagree. The one gold limit per weapons and armor makes the game better. It lets you create different builds. Everyone will be able to make their guardian unique because of this system. Sorry but I don't see this system changing anytime soon. Just enjoy the game

                • Game is gold. It makes characters more unique and allows for more builds and combinations. Won't change and never will. Just like trading. Not a flaw. A flaw implies failure. This was done on purpose

It's because they want you to be unique. If you could have exotic everything everyone would have the same perfect load out. Also purples are useful now and not junk at max lvl.

                          • We haven't even played the full game yet so how would you really know if its even an issue? For all we know it works perfectly. This is why I don't watch YouTube videos on games that aren't even out yet. People make way to many assumptions based on very little information.

                            • ...You're trying to make The Darkness < Guardian > Vehicles & turrets. It -cannot- be that way, because if it is, then it'd feel like playing Halo on Casual
(lower than easy, enemies stand still, infinite ammo for player, easy bossfights, 0.5% chance of death, everything 1shot in head = dead, good thing 343I didn't add this in Halo 4).

It should ALWAYS be Guardian < Vehicles & Turrets (a bit, Guardian ordnance (rockets, etc...) shouldn't insta-kill vehicles but rather kill driver first but cause a large amount of harm (like de-weaponizing the vehicle, such as Halo's Scorpion/Wraith) ) < The Darkness.
• Nah this has to be changed, I'll be so pissed if I go through a 16 hour raid to get the "omega destroyer ultra mega super death ray beam cannon mk-X", that goes perfectly with my "omni halo of the all powerful righteous savage" only to find out I can equip 1 at a time. Bungie said the endgame is difficult, so why not let us pull out all the stocks?

Ever thought about the simple fact that having all the exotic gear on during the single player, would make single player just a little bit too -blam!-ing easy? The buffs that exotics give are crazy. Having a full set of that would make your guardian so overpowered that the already easy NPC's would stand no fighting chance whatsoever.

                              • It's not like you can equip them until after level 20, and by then, all armor stats are already up in the hundreds. I don't see how it matters since by level 20, basically poking an enemy causes a nuclear explosion. I'm fine with it as long as I can get my hands on one.
