Destiny: An Invictus Tribute

The above video is something I've been working on the past couple hours. Invictus is a poem written in 1975 by William Ernest Henley. Henley had tuberculosis at age 12, and they ended up having to amputate one of his legs. In this poem, he talks about overcoming his challenges- besting them no matter how life tries to bring him down. A good man, there. I have adapted the poem for Destiny and have tried to provide some semblance of symbolism with the video portion as well. I hope some of you find it interesting. And for the curious... 'Invictus' is Latin. It means 'Unconquerable.'

Necrobump from the night that covers me. :D I wrote a Destiny poem in the style of Invictus! I'll see if I can find it. Edit: A long hall looms Out of the night that covers me Voices whisper certain doom Black as the pit from pole to pole I scream, yet no sound is heard I thank what ever gods may be Hollow stone and crumbled earth For my unconquerable soul Rifle raised, In the fell clutch of circumstance Elbow pressed to side I have not winced not cried aloud Bleeding Fallen, Under the bludgeonings of chance Dying Hive My head is bloody but unbowed. Fear strikes my sullen heart Beyond this place of wrath and tears Like a Fallen Captain's blade Looms but the horror of the shade I must end before my valiant start And yet the menace of the years My ending part hath been played Finds and shall find me unafraid. My sins are absolute It matters not how strait the gate, And my judgment is so clear Or charged with punishments the scroll Oh, how the end is near I am the master of my fate And all I fear I am the captain of my soul Is the loss of life's control
