Not motes of light. It is actually the light stat that you get on armor that will raise your level beyond the soft cap of 20.

Edited by Amusekus: 8/22/2014 10:48:02 PM
You need motes of light for that light stat am I right?
this has not been confirmed. The light stat from what we seen is already on gear. Motes of life is a currency, you can buy stuff with it. We only saw class accessories as items you could buy with motes of light in beta.
I'd like to talk about the level cap. We know there's a soft level cap of 20, but you can go beyond it by gaining Motes of Light and applying them to your items. Jonty Barnes: Yeah....
That's the short answer but you need to use the to level up. #facts

I never said it wasn't, we just don't know how it is going to be used. They never gave us a clear answer. We do know for a fact though that the Light stat is actually what increases our level.
-
Yup and the motes of light affect that light stat #SnappleFact

You are a terd. Go post some links or kick rocks. You anal battymon.

Where is your proof of this, Bungie has never said that.
-
True Bungie had not said that but just a random guess. If you have motes of light right and you have this weapon right. You add motes of light to a weapon you are essentially adding light your weapon which would almost naturally seem to affect its light stat. Now we already know in the article it said that you can go past level 20 by applying motes of light to items but it can also change is properties and how it acts.

Now we already know in the article it said that you can go past level 20 by applying motes of light to items but it can also change is properties and how it acts.
You are putting words in their mouth. The interviewer just said 'we know you use motes of light to level up'. Bungie just said yes, that does not apply anything. There was nothing said you put mote of light on it gear, that is what you are interrupting. Do I think mote of life can be used to upgrade gear, sure why not. Has Bungie told us they will do that, no. Gear already has Light when you pick it up. There is a big line between speculation and facts. I hate people just assuming things when Bungie has not stated that.
-
As to whether motes of light will be used to upgrade my level past 20 I am not assuming anything the interviewer asked a direct question and the Bungie guy answered yes. That's not me reading more into it that's the facts. It sounds like you won't accept anything short of a dev stating exactly what the interviewer said.
-
I'm not putting words in their mouth as I previously said that Bungie did NOT day that motes of light affect the light stat. Using deduction I formed an educated guess as to how that might work. Read and reread what I write before accusing me of anything foul sir.
-
No that is incorrect the light stat is like discipline or strength stat on gear. Motes of light will be used for upgrades on exotic armor or to purchase exotic gear I believe not a 100% on what they are used for.
-
Now I know your misinformed. The article directly says how you will level up and states there is a connection with motes of light. Just read it.
-
I promise it's the light stat. When you level up from exp beyond level 20 you are rewarded with a mote of light.
-
Your gonna have to give me more than just your promise guy. I know that you get motes of light instead of xp past lvl 20 but those motes of light whether they are used for you gear, light stat, etc at the end it essentially helps you level up past lvl 20. You can't lvl up higher without them.

http://destiny.wikia.com/wiki/Young_Ahamkara%27s_Spine Look at that it has 21 light on it nothing to do with motes. Watch the dattodoesdestiny on this.

I don't do wiki sites. Colleges won't accept that as a creditable source of information and neither will I but thanks for posting it in case others are interested in that sort of thing.
-
It's a -blam!-ing in game screen shot from a bungie video. Are you trolling?
-
Nah I just dont like to view them. I'm not saying his information was false as some wiki sites have some good facts on then I just don't care to view them when it comes to a subject like this.
-
Well its on videos that bungie posts if you care to look there. Jesus I been done with school that's a funny English teacher comment. It's just an image of armor with the stats. You will see come launch until then carry on sir your doing a fine job.
-
Lol yea I'm sorry its kinda hard to break some habits but I definitely will go over every video as I nevet get tired of watching them.
