wtf is dis shyet?! that is the most uneducated definition of competition ive ever seen. also max lvl is 20, which i believe they have established quite firmly. whats all dis bout the 30s? you also got the part wrong about the lvl 5. a lvl 5 has an equal(or mostly equal) opportunity to do good in the game because they remove the lvl bonuses that would be incredibly different between the lvls.
competitive: of, pertaining to, involving, or decided by competition
competition: the act of competing; rivalry for supremacy, a prize, etc.
therefore, anything relating to competion. (pvp in general) is competitive. Destiny is competitive because involves competition.

You can level up past level 20 via armor pieces with "light" on them rather than strength, intelligence, or discipline. IGN posted a video where Bungie showed them a level 29 Titan at work, check it out.

EDIT: just so you know i looked it up so hopefully you dont think im talking trash. thx for the info.

I think you had the right idea. 20 is "technically" the cap. Everything from that point on is gear dependant. So much so that I believe if you unequip an item that has light levels you will go back down. It seems apparent you hadn't seen any of the 20+ stuff in action yet though. See you starside.
