I think there are a lot of people jumping the gun on certain features that will be missing at launch. Namely, Clan matches and private lobbies. What a few individuals are forgetting, is that implementation of additional features will inevitably be a part of bungie's plans. I think it has previously been mentioned that Bungie wants the community to shape this game as much as the developers themselves, so give it some time. There is so much to do in destiny for the time being and we haven't even seen it all yet. At some point in the future, there is a good chance that there will be proper implementation of clan support and activity, DLC and expansions are so frequent these days. I would be surprised, that with factions, Fireteams and heavy Clan support on the website that we wouldn't see some extension of those features in the future. Moving on, Private lobbies are neither here nor there right now. This isn't a standard FPS and it is yet to be seen which way works best when it comes to private crucible sessions. Destiny will evolve, the community will adapt, and the game will grow. Bungie know what they're doing, look where they took halo from it's humble beginnings, let the dust settle and have a little faith!
