I like the general style to this short piece. You keep your story loyal to the source material which is much appreciated as well. I'm not a fiction writer so the only advice I can give you is to keep working on your story. Don't ever simply write it and call it done but instead keep editing it until it, not only fits but augments, the image you have in your own mind for your characters and their setting.
