remember how titanfall which was a good game didnt have private matchs for awhile till most ppl left then put it in after it was to late.. Bungie if you want destiny to last even for 1 year let alone 10 years you have to give the competitive gamers and casual gamers their basic gaming "needs" private matches, local multiplayer, and all these other things you guys are passing up on or even adding later, dont get me wrong im very excited for this game but if 2 months after the release Im playing against ppl Ill never see again idk if ill continue playing I mean wheres the fun in that

I hated how everyone was in a private match in halo. I have a life and dont play games 24/7 so I dont have 20 billion friends ready to get into a match besides that those matches were always 12 year old anoying brats playing hooky from school. There is a way to play together if you plaid beta you can gather 12 friends into a sqaud and only play with them. For one on one just have the rest of the team hang put and speculate.

Bungie wants to make a very fun, very balanced competitive game for everybody first, and have left it open to perhaps cater to the pro gamer down the road. So, you're points are valid....from a certain point of view. That may not please you that they are going about it that way, but hey, come the full retail release, if you and your league of pro gamers that you authoritatively speak for still feel those options are needed, by all means continue to post in these forums. normally I would trust bungie to do what's right and put my faith in them....but....uhm....no private matches? that's just weird man.....I think there is enough demand to put in clan matches and private matches right away....some of us have massive friend lists or are part of large clans where we would love to run private matches all day long..... I think this is a terrible mistake not putting in private matches and clan matches.....putting my opinion in with the rest so hoepfully bungie takes notice.

If you continue the video you would have herd that they said the first installment will not have but they will later on, they'll probably let people settle in get through the story and then add in matchmaking it won't stay a custom less game which I think will add ease to a player like me, I'll enjoy campaign and exploring without thinking I'm losing an edge to all other clans in the back of my mind

I completely agree with you, yeah lets let COD run another decade of bullshit gaming for close minded individuals that need kills with 3 bullets and never have competition in a game that will have millions of people buying this game, what a joke if there's no private servers, the maps are already tactical and strategic for competitive play so it would be a nearly worthless game without competition. All developers know how to do is make half assed games on release and its becoming pathetic.

OMG why is there so much hate lately!!! Talking about the comments not you OP. Most people on these forums are dedicated long term Halo players or new to Bungie other FPS players. Almost every FPS for the past few years has had private and custom matches. Any old school Halo and Bungie fan is just used to having custom matches because Bungie did them so well over the past 15 or so years! It's not just competitive players who want custom/private matches, us common players want it too! Even a purely PVE player should be able to see the benefit of private matches! Being able to make it unlimited ammo or unlimited supers to test gear and builds would be awesome! Playing a friendly 1v1 with a bro would be awesome! Yes this isn't built to be a competitive multiplayer but they still saw the need to include a pretty detailed multiplayer! None of the mainstream shooters have had a level based system since Halo 3! COD, Gears, Titanfall, nothing they all use a bs exp build for a level that only shows how much you play. That didn't stop them from being competitively played on tournament levels! The PvP in Destiny is very solid, and with Bungies background for amazing private matches with awesome customization it's not absurd for players to expect equal or beyond! The "this is not Halo" argument is so irrelevant and played out! Halo was a extremely successful FPS made by Bungie. They spent the better part of TWENTY YEARS making Halo and literally evolving it (no pun intended). Destiny is a FPS that's also made by Bungie. It's literally their first major project since Halo! It's a sci-fi action FIRST PERSON SHOOTER FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!!!!!!!! It may not be called Halo, but Bungie wouldn't be anywhere near what they are without Halo. Destiny isn't Halo, but Halo Isn't Bungie! Bungie is Halo, and Bungie is now Destiny! Do you really think they took all their notes and learning experiences and all the elders that knew why Halo worked so well and said "Goodbye! We no longer need you because we're not making Halo! We're making a new game that's 100% different! We're gonna make a Sci-fi FPS that's in no way going to resemble Halo!" NO!!! Destiny does feel and resemble Halo not because Bungie copied it! But because Bungie is both of their mothers! Even if a sibling has a single different parent they're still going to resemble each other! This is just another classic Bungie game! Why shouldn't it share in some of the best ideas that they created and literally revolutionized console FPS's!?!?! Why is it so wrong to want something that's literally an industry standard that the company is one of the main reasons for it's evolution!?!? Why should they short us one amazing experience because they're giving us another? Why can't we have both?!?!? I mean the one they're taking away already exist and they are the one's who made it!!!

Lots of pub stomping lol Even all the awful PvE players here should be disappointing too though. How are you supposed to play a game with a group of friends? Split into fire teams and search matchmaking at the same time? This game will be dead in 2 months, titanfall all over again.

I usually try to tell people to put down their torches and pitchforks but... WTH bungie? I mean.. shit... this is going to be one of the most unsocial games ever at this rate. I'm trying to think of a positive to wring out of this.. but i'm coming up empty, Destiny's multiplayer is going to wither and die in a few short months. There's only so much fun you can get from jumping into a game with a bunch of randoms, and while i'm not saying the multiplayer won't be fun... its going to end up just being a grind, you might as well of simply removed the multiplayer altogether and simply had people fighting against bots, theres not really going to be much of a noticeable difference.

competitive players feel entitled to everything don't they? Remember one thing making games is a business which means thinking first and foremost about mass market, competitive is a minority you are an after thought deal with it.
