Vault of Glass Memorial?

They should get some recognition!

I don't care if those people beat it!

Since the Vault of Glass is Bungie's hardest challenge ever made throughout any of their games, there should be a memorial somewhere within the Tower of the first team who is capable of completing this challenging raid. It would be a statue of the fireteam that completed it and a plaque near it would stay there forever reading, "This unstoppable fireteam conquered the most challenging feat we have ever made and therefore grant this as a token of congratulations. Your fireteam will go down in history." There player ID's would be listed underneath Bungie's message. It would be very unique to give the first fireteam some recognition, because according to "stories", an eSports team played for about 14-16 hours and could not complete this raid. I think that the first players that can complete this raid should be awarded with a memorial or some statues as a commemoration to their act of heroism. It should be known that this fireteam was able to complete this challenge and that they were the first in Destiny history.

  • I see no point in it. After this one, then what? They're going to keep releasing new content, so should the first people keep getting recognition via a statue in game? Also if we're supposed to be "the" guardian, then such a thing would kinda break the immersion from a storyline POV. Not that I would be against something like a special emblem or whatever, but a statue in the tower is a bit much imo.

  • I hope they don't do it the thing is if they whould do it then u get lots of people who think wow i want to be there but i can't because i have a day job or kids to take care of and i cant be playing 24/7 so i wil never get the change to be named on a statue or some wall of fame. it wil also make people rush the game to get as fast to level 20 as possible en then be able to Raid. what is the fun of that i hope u get some good Loot and thats it maybe some personal emblems for finishing the Raid. that whould be good for me.

    • I think it's a great idea. There a plenty of people already preparing raid teams with the intent of being the first to beat it. It's an accomplishment that I think deserves a bigger reward than just completing it.

    • I'm on the fence about it. While I do believe that the first team who beats the VoG deserves a little recognition or something, I don't think it should be preemptively encouraged. The reason I say this, is because "a race to the first raid win" will no doubt create countless rushers and most of the Destiny story experience will be lost on the rush to be etched in stone.

    • I'd favor more the idea of having a plaque with the names of everyone who completes it in order and maybe a times completed count beside the name.

    • Unnecessary. The accomplishment alone is enough imo

    • This is a good idea, but I think it would be cool if there was just a thing in the tower that you could go to to see all of who has completed it.

    • How about a book on a podium reading every player who has conquered it?
