I'd really like to see cross-platform play for the different console manufacturers if possible. My friend and I have kept up with Destiny coverage ever since it was announced, but now he's in a position where buying a PS4 is a better idea than buying a new PS3. We won't be able to play together like we've been anticipating so much, it seems. I'm not disappointed enough to be particularly disinterested in the game but it's certainly discouraging. We had a lot of fun experiencing the beta together and it would be cool to continue our adventures together.
That's it for my late night, slightly drunken rant. Have a good day. I feel better now.

Blame Microsoft they said they don't want it Sony was OK with it

Part of the problem is the development period is cross gen so your technically looking at a next gen port. So they up our graphics and include ps4/xbone gimmicks support. This was a huge investment and they can't afford to take risks. If it tanks Bungie is done.

It's sad. I fully expected cross gen. when I heard about Destiny. I was playing FF14 on a PS3 with PCs. Then they gave us a free transfer to the PS4. My character and inventory are now on the PS4. PS3 + 4 + PCs are playing together as we speak. That is why I thought Destiny would have cross gen. I would think they will for the next generation of consoles. Sony can do it. I am not up on Xbox. Let's hope they will. I don't want to buy a new system for awhile.

Bungie have already confirmed that this is never going to happen. Sorry!
