I suggest you buy a copy of destiny for both xbox one and 360. You are able to seamlessly transfer your character from generation to generation, and the disparity between generations isn't that big, I'd say (PS3 version still looks and performs great).

I didn't know you could transfer characters between 360 and 1? Where did you find out about that?

It was in the weekly update mailsack (the one before yesterday's).

Oh sorry for the confusion!! My brother is going to use the Xbox 360 and I am using the Xbox One. We both have a few friends on each console but we would like if we could play together with our friends on each console together.

That's fine. I was honestly hoping for cross-platform play as well, since split-screen was out, and the fact that I will be owning both PS3 and PS4 by september.
