Yea but if you know anything about real guns bird shot( what's used to shoot birds) isn't effective on people at long range. And buck shot which is effective on people doesn't have as far of range.

Yes but in the game the shotgun isn't even effective at 10m. In real life you're going to get more than 50m out of bird shot (maybe not against a human-sized target, but it wasn't designed for large targets). Buck shot is going to depend on the size. We talking 00, 000, #4, etc. For 00 it should still be effective up to ~50m and maybe a bit beyond. Some of the other loads have a further effective range due to the amount of pellets covering the area, but then you have to look at what is your target. Shotguns really aren't these uber-close only weapons like games would have us believe. They are more of a short to mid range weapon and not a melee-only weapon. But this is for real life and ignores balance issues. Though I do miss my Halo 1 shotgun as I feel like that is about the only game that got the balance of a shotgun right.

True, but I'm not saying it should have as much range as all the other guns, I'm saying it should have more range than a throwing knife effectively.
-
Don't be bashing throwing knifes they take a lot more skill to use than a shotgun.
-
I'm not, bashing throwing knives, I love them as they are, I use them as much as possible, but they're also much faster than a shotgun and its easier to land head shots with them. Shotguns should do the same or a little less damage as a body hit with a throwing dagger. I've gotten a headshot with a shotgun maybe once to the 50 some odd with a throwing knife, which is about half the time.
-
I've gotten quite a few throwing knife kills myself, but shotguns are Balanced compair ing them to snipers and fusion rifles and special melees don't even come into that category.
-
No I get that and I agree. I'm just saying that how your arguing it isn't the best way.
-
Ah, well how would you state the argument?

Idk just not like that lol
