The Hellmouth was AMAZING!!
After completing the mission for the moon we went back in search of dead ghosts to bring back to life and ended up stumbling upon the hellmouth. we dove into its dark corridors for almost the entire 2 hour period and even then we were blocked by doors that we knew would only take us deeper when full release is here. The atmosphere was tense every second we felt like there were a million eyes watching us waiting to strike. We even made it all the way back to the temple but from within the hellmouth. needless to say we killed our fair share of the hive and even took out an ogre along the way. GREAT JOB!! with so many people claiming that the moon sucked I had to let it be known that below the surface there is a maze of tunnels in the darkness that will either lead you to glory or drive you insane. loved every second of it.

My bud and I went back to the moon for the third time with about 20 minutes before it closed and we chose the higher difficulty. That time we found the Hellmouth and also went all the way to the bottom. When we finally went back to the surface and completed the mission we realized that the moon had been closed for about an hour. It was great.

The best part of being down there...the enemies respawned so fast, or I was there too long lol.

1 ReplyCiao Everybody! IT'S HERE! The third and final video of my adventures inside of HellMouth during the Destiny Beta! This time I'm laying siege to one of the most ominously named locations in HellMouth. I also talk about my theory of what we can expect from "The Sword of Crota" mission. Last time I posted I said if you guys left more LIKEs on the Part 2 video than the total number of VIEWS the Part 1 video had gained over 2-3 weeks I would get the Part 3 video up ASAP. But since Part 2 reached and surpassed the total number of views that Part 1 had in under a week I decided to post Part 3 anyway to reward you guys. You can all also look forward to the fact that I'm also going to treat you to a Funniest Moments video to help us all kill time while waiting for Sept. 9. 2 RepliesEdited by MightyJonE: 8/21/2014 8:55:05 AMI never saw the hell mouth, but I was somewhat disappointed with the moon because, in gameplay terms, it was pretty much identical to earth, especially as I was confronted with the same old set of enemies I'd already killed a million times back in Russia It would've been nice if the moon could've been that little bit different in some way, not just cosmetically. Hopefully, with regards to the moon, bungie weren't playing all their cards in the beta

Amazing as HellMouth was I think it's more amazing how many people have responded to this thread to tell their story or to read someone else's. Well I'm glad to say I'm adding to these stories again with my second video from my Tour of HellMouth you can view here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aCg1Rn_K1vc, I'm sorry it took so long to post, my real life got a little hectic and kept me very busy. I'm back now though and even though the first video was only viewed by a few people who visited this thread and anybody who searched for Destiny Beta HellMouth videos and happened to click on mine, it did ok. I would love though for this video to do much better, if you guys enjoy the videos please remember to leave a like and share it with you friends because it helps me out a lot. To leave a like remember guys you need a YouTube account and they are free and you aren't required to post videos if you don't want, just enjoy everyone else's. If you can get to more likes within a week for Part 2 of the HellMouth Tour than views of my first video which should be easy since word of it has been slow to spread, I will post the third Tour video as immediately as I can. After that if you guys can get to double the number of likes on the third video within a week I will do something a little special for you here on the Bungie site. If you want to leave comments feel free to tell me what you think of the videos and what you would like more of because I do have a lot of recordings from the Beta. While the Moon was open we had two fire teams going in our chat. I wondered off the beaten path looking for loot but also knowing that, just like Russia, the entire map is explorable. (Truth is we found many locked doors but that only adds to the grand scope of the moon) Each of our fire teams went deep under the surface of the moon. Oddly enough we didn't follow the same path and so, as we explored, the narrative was very different. Each oh'd and awe'd at different sights and discoveries. Each level of the hellmouth seemed to tell a new story and warn of an impending doom. The ominous nature of the hive sent chills up our spines and the new and dangerous enemies made us question our decent. If you missed the moon be excited at the challenge that awaits. If you visited the moon and somehow complain that it is to small, I'm curious to know how much exploring you did. The map doesn't at left to right, in a creative and compelling way it plays up to down.

I was working that day so I missed it....just being able to look at the earth would have been amazing. Nope its coming back I hate all of you... jealousy a b#@$%.

5 RepliesMe and my friend accidentally went into it while heading towards the temple. But when we were in it the waypoint kept taking us deeper and deeper into the hellmouth.i thought it was part of the mission and it was amazing. Then the waypoint pointed to a door that we could not enter. After a minute of confusion we decided to leave, which took forever to find our way out. But still I enjoyed killing all those wizards, the ogre and the level 12 knights. Can't wait for the final version!

I got lost. Alone. For nearly twenty minutes I had no idea where I was, stuck miles into enemy territory! It was almost legitimately scary. I did find some pretty neat things, though. Maybe getting lost was worth it!

1 ReplyI was bummed I miss the chance to explore it. All the videos people did exploring just look amazing. Very [I]Alien[/I]-esque creepy with the large spaces and vaulted ceilings, etc.

1 ReplyWhen I explored it alone it felt even creepier, and whenever I saw an enemy I just kept thinking to myself, "shit shit shit shit". It felt very tense all the way through. I really felt like an adventurer exploring ancient ruins.

I too explored The Hellmouth. There is some hella architecture going on down there. The Hive REALLY have some stuff going on. There is much more to them than meets the eye, in a deeply creepy and yet fascinating way. Eldritch to the core.
