The Tower needs a Shooting Range to test new weapons and loadouts. Any thoughts? Agree or disagree?

A military hq isnt one without a good Range to go to

Me and my friends were thinking the same thing.

I thought about it but I like the idea of testing in the field. But it wouldn't hurt

This would absolutely be an awesome addition. It would be cool if the targets could be set to certain "levels" to test weapon/grenade/super effeciency. Also to have an option to toggle the target having a shield. I realize we can test out in the field but to be able to have the convenience in the tower instead of having to spend the time going to orbit then picking the appropriate planet/mission and going through the loading screens and finally getting to the enemy with the appropriate level we want to test and/or getting to a shielded enemy. This would also especially be helpful when you come back to the tower with multiple engrams and get a couple new weapons you can't decide between.

You sir are a genus

Something al la ME3 would be quite useful.

I agree i had that exact same thought a day ago while playing

I feel like the tower needs more than just that. Like a club for dancing and gambling with your hard earned glimmer. Maybe some mini games and gear trading. Anyone agree?
The Tower needs a Shooting Range to test new weapons and loadouts. Any thoughts? Agree or disagree?
I was just talking about this to my bro

Agree

I didnt think about that in game, but now that you say it it would be very handy to be able to test the way that a gun feels before I take it out into the wilderness, also save a lot of time traveling back and forth between the tower incase you buy a bad gun. I approve!
-
Meh you could always test your weapons when you free-roam but it definitely would add to the things you can do in the Tower which I admit at this time is VERY limited.
-
all for that, something like in masseffect 3
-
I totally agree with this, I say this each time i go to purchase a new weapon, i just want to be able to try it out before i buy it or at least try it out without having to go into a mission or free roam!
-
Also somewhere you can access this forum so you can leave suggestions mid-game would be cool
-
I completely agree, I want to be able to compare 2 weapons side by side without worrying about ammo. It would be even better if there a target to shoot that tells the damage done. I for one can't tell which is better, a gun with lower impact but higher attack rating, or higher attack rating with lower impact.

Have a clay pigeon type shooting range where you stand at the edge and targets get flung out from either side and away from you!

Agree

I really hope Bungie see this, or the multitude of other posts regarding the same idea.
-
Just go shoot the baddies
-
I so agree! Hopefully bungie reads this.

Think it would be a great addition and make the tower feel more home like to me

Best idea I've ever heard!

Edited by Flint3125: 7/25/2014 1:23:30 PMI totally dig this idea. I have built shooting ranges in each Halo since Halo 3 using Forge IOT mess around with each weapon. I would love to see this in three forms. 1) The first form is a simple range - enter and stand at a static location and fire weapons at targets. They can at first be static, then pop up, then moving. It shouldn't require AI as they won't fire back, but it's just a range. Competitive fun? Have leaderboards (with different weapon types) for friends and/or global with hits/headshots/accuracy/speed. 2) The second is an obstacle course - enter into an area to try out different abilities. You can have a suggested path to have you run through. You can test out your movement skills over jumps and things like that. Different levels could be designed for Titans, Hunters and Warlocks or just one uniform one. Again, competitive fun could incorporate leaderboards (with different weapon types) for friends and/or global with speed or other things (probably just speed). Could you imagine floating through rings or something as a Warlock? 3) The third is the shoot house. This would be the ultimate fun house with a maze which includes pop up targets. Jumps, slides, sprints - all included throughout the house. Once again, tons of fun with leaderboards. Heck, incorporate bounties/quests just to get the word out. It's not necessarily just for inexperienced players but with the vast array of weapons and options, this would be a welcome addition to the Tower. Great post SolidCM! Thoughts? JTS
