I like this game a lot but the PVP

Is not balanced or skill based. Don't sit here and fanboy and try to explain or make excuses as to why you believe it is any competent player can tell it isn't. Constructive feed back: 1. Supers have no place in the mp and are the biggest problem, disable them. There is no way to tell when a player is super charged or not. If there were a very clear aesthetic when there super was ready that other players could be aware of it would be somewhat fair but even then for the warlock and myself included, Titan it's just mash bumpers to win. Maybe a gold halo or sparkles around the player when their super is ready? 2. The sniper rifle damage needs to be lowered roughly 20-30% auto aim needs a severe reduction. I was doming head shots with the Gozen with no effort after 3 games. Head shot damage should remain the same. 3. Reduce auto rifle damage 5-10% buff pulse rifle damage at least 20% and reduce recoil slightly. 4. Vehicles for the most part are incredibly broken. Either a sniper takes them out of the vehicle or a super must come up. At the beginning of the game vehicles reign supreme please add heavy weapon ammo at the start of games on vehicle based maps, it would have such a positive impact on gameplay. 5. Net code seems to be intentionally noob friendly, at close quarters it is near impossible not to trade. Often I melee the person shot gunning me and they die as well. Don't even get me started about meleeing each other, it is almost guaranteed that both players die. Kill delays on many things such as snipers can be up to 3 seconds.. I have never seen this in a game before, ever. It's ridiculous. I do however love the map designs, although moon is over vehicle saturated. The movement mechanics and aiming in this game are some of the best in any FPS I have ever touched hands down. Edit: For good players please message me if you are interested in joining a competitive scene of players I have started a group called Got Gear looking to raid and be the premiere first raiding guild in Destiny. I used to lead 10 and 25 man WoW raids. If this game does somehow turn around it's MP we are looking to compete in tourneys as well.

  • Why do almost all of the Xbox players hate PvP? And don't say it's because I don't understand xbox players kuz I've played both halo a bunch on my 360.

      • I wish I could love this post. I'm so so so frustrated with PvP because of all of the things in this post. I've always gotten upset when I lose in other games but the PvP has taken it to an entirely different level. My blood is seriously boiling over the fact that I should be able to shoot people with a heavy machine gun and kill them before they can shoot me with a sniper rifle. Or I'll lay an entire clip of an auto rifle to get killed by a mele. I just don't understand what I'm doing differently compared to these other people. And I'm ps4 complaining about this. Not Xbox.

        • They also need to fix the map balance in my region at least I played 10 games earlier and 6 in a row were shores of time then 1 was the map on the moon (I can't remember it's name because I've barely played on it) then the rest were shores of time again

        • I don't exactly agree on everything but lemme see: 1. Supers are what make this Destiny, and not Halo. A glow would be useful; however, what is the point of a super? Is it not a last card, escape mechanism? It changes game-play from be careful everyone may have it to, kill that guy now and always,. Also it allows people who would rather not play PvP to at least get some kills every once in a while. Hunters also currently glow while using their super. 2. So, a sniper should kill in three body shots? Three headshots from a easier to use scout rifle achieves the kill. I think they're fine. 3. Auto rifles are excelling at close to medium combat. I'm not sure why you would nerf something that is doing its intended role. A scout rifle at long range with two people of equal skill, well, the scout wins. 4. Exactly, snipers now have a purpose on your team, vehicle maintenance. Vehicles, specifically the Interceptor, can only dominate B completely in the beginning. The Pike can be taken out with a well placed explosive if they try to creep onto A or C. 5. Net code, I give you that. Your point on killing a shot gunner, well seems interesting, considering Bungie told us it works, you melee-ing and getting a kill should be blissful counter to a strong and easy strategy. Kill delays, another thing youre correct on, mostly snipers. 6. Over saturated? How would you fix it? Get rid of Interceptor? And so, give the turret nothing to do but kill people instead of vehicles? The mechanics are fun, agreed! :D

          • Lag kill .... This is the biggest problem of all, people made fun of BF4 with those ugly trade and lag kill ... it is the same story on Destiny, hopefully this wont be on the full game

              • 1. Supers should e called out by teammates. Such as in halo where you call out who has sword. (You may say just see the sword, but if you ran around with sword out you are a scrub) 2. General auto aim needs a reduction 100% agree, but sniper body shot damage 20-30%!? It's a 2 shot body kill just like most games. 3. I like the pulse rifle buff, I agree it needs it. Especially the recoil. Auto rifle is a tad bit fast on kills maybe a 3-5% nerf 4. Totally agree, I -blam!-ing hate all vehicles, but I mean... Some people like em so Bungie has to have em. 5. I you could crouch after melee instead of being required to stand up there would be less trades. It bugs me that you can't crouch during melee's. Your ending, fabulous.

              • I just think the whole PvP system is stupid. Honestly, it feels tacked on. This game was clearly designed around PvE type gameplay and mechanics. NOTHING is balanced at all!

                • I agree with the Super Power thing. I've gotten killed way too many times when one more hit and I would've killed them but they use their power to wreck me. I also don't really like the tracker. Sure its nice to have but on the other side, it really exposed you...a ton. Maybe their could be a kill streak like 5-10 kills where you can enable trackers for a certain amount of time??? Idk. I'm really looking forward to what this game has to offer. #destinyforgameofyear

                • Everything you just listed is spot on. I was going to make a thread but it's pointless now. I would love a pulse rifle buff it's really not reaching its potential. I really hope bungie take heed from this post.

                • This is some of the worst competitive play I've seen in a long time. Players are super weak which turns it into a twitch shooter, and combined with the atrocious net code makes it one of the most rage-inducing games I've played. Even if I win a game, there's no satisfaction in it. Honestly, PVP doesn't even belong in this game. It's impossible to balance since people can bring in whatever weapons and armor they want from the rest of the game. If you don't have that amazing rare weapon, you're screwed.

                • I don't know what it is about the PVP in this game but it just plain sucks. I have yet to be in a match where it isn't just a one-sides slaughter. And I am pretty good at multiplayer FPS games. Also, vehicles with over-powered weapons need to be removed completely. They don't have a place in this game and are so imbalancing it's not even funny. I will not be playing this part of Destiny when the final game comes out.

                • I am not a fan of the titan needing to be nerfed. It is the only class with a super that isn't ranged, the titan is forced to get up close or in the air to use the super more effectively. I agree on the rest but the PvP does show how the story is, the guardians are at a major disadvantage in the story as well as you are in the multiplayer. But you can turn the tides.

                    • I think the damage is off balance and that includes supers and vehicles. I think Bungie actually might be happy with where its at, they had the game long enough to themselfs to do balance tweaking that it shouldn't be as off as I personally see it. I think we are just stuck with this... arcade-smash-brawl-shooter thing. I think i will call it "Call of Destiny" when referring to PvP until it gets fixed up a lot; watch some Bungie clown like Deej make a comment like: "i like the sound of that, we might rename the game now". Auto aim needs to be removed from PvP and needs the option to turn its stupid ass off. Everything needs damage adjustments, but im gonna disagree with your suggestions.

Also, its not as if Supers make or break games, they are nice clutch moves that can help single handedly capture a base or take out a tank. They seem fine. We all have them, good teams get Orbs of Light and use them more, simple synergy mechanic. All they are is a instant -1 on your K/D for careless players. They really make MP for me since I tend to solo. Last night I wiped out four Guardians at once holding hands around point B on Moon base...that's not OP, don't effing hold hands around bases four players deep...but if you do, I will gladly take advantage =P [quote]2. [/quote] That word...I don't think it means what you think it means...<.<... Bungie has always liked vehicles, I personally don't use them much but they are fun to blow up. The turrets can be effective, you really need some focus fire on the tank, but I've blown up the smaller ones on Moon several times with just regular fire... There's also really not much they can do on Moon except troll point B until some gets pissed off and blows it up. If you're really that worried about it the best tactic is probably to rush to your side's tank and try to take out the enemy tank. All in all though, its not a [i]broken[/i] mechanic, they are mitigated by the game, we call that [b]balanced[/b]. Now you say it! Bal-a-nced! Also, welcome to the juggling act that is massive complex multiplayer balancing...
