The Iron Banner drops for this legendary gear is ridiculous. After making sure I had top tier gear for the beta and ready to join I feel really let down with the drops. I play in a fireteam of two friends, most matches we are the top three player and usually win the game. Afterwards, maybe on of us will get a white piece of gear, but lower level people on the team with horrible k/d's will get legendary or better drops. Now I'm not one for k/d's to be regarded as super important, but when telling people it's an open gameplay mode with rare drops and then not rewarding the higher skilled/winning players seems a bit unfair. It certainly lowers the mood and kills the hype. Just would like to see a less RNG based system and a more player-skill orientated.

  • I'm so not OK with it. I am top three most games..25 + kills and am level 4...had one drop of 307 gauntlets since iron banner began.it should be skill based. I have a much lower drop rate than anyone I play with..how we still get 267 blue engrams at all is cray. random does not equal fairness destiny. this is like when they give everyone participant ribbons in races just to make sure nobody's feelings get hurt. 1 2 3 should get better rewards. give the sweet motes of light to the guys on the bottom of the list. thanks for making 296-300 a soul sucking grind. love the guy going 1 kill 11 deaths and getting a 309 chest plate. 26 and 10 gets me a sweet 274 revolver tho....winning guys. winning.

    • I understand the purpose behind the RNG loot tables in the Crucible/Iron Banana. Sure, players feel like they should be rewarded for having a great game. In a way they do get rewards. They complete their bounties quicker, and yield more marks and glimmer. But if rewards were only given to the game's best players, there would be more incentive to cheat and novice players wouldn't join the game, providing meat for your slaughter. Bungie created a PVP game were anyone can join and attempt to be good. Players who are looking for a MLG experience should seek other avenues, because Destiny is mainly a PVE game.

      • This isnt COD - the more random it is allows for everyone to have a chance to level up or get the loot. If the highest rated players got the loot every game session the new or less experienced players would not return so weakening the player base and amount of players on the servers - dont like it play cod :p

            What rank are you? I've heard mention that the higher your rank the more chance you have. I can't remember but my similars wraths, ephrideets spears, ghelions dismisses and Jolders hammer didn't drop until rank 4 and 5, so I kinda believe it, RNGesus hates me though so that might just be my drop rate. Oh and yes I meant to put s's on all those because I have more than one of all of them hehehehehe I really wish there was a chance for armor to drop!

          • You mad bro? I got Timur's Lash and I was maybe 2nd or 3rd on my team, and we LOST! Do you know how fun it is to sit and look in my inventory and know I can't use it? I just imagine how much damage it will do, and play pvp in my head oneshotting everyone. It's the best.

              • Point is to KEEP PLAYING. I know sometimes RNG sux i can't tell you how many times I've not gotten the loot I've needed in games like this due to the random loot distribution but it gets you back in the game grinding for that sweet sweet loot and when you get it man it's rewarding.

                • The only prob with that is that the players who do well would only do better while the less skilled players become more handicapped

                • Well im fine with it but i would rather have a better system than random. But i would still want to see variables. And definitely not for just first place, so you dont have to be the best to get something, like the person who got first blood, the person with the most kills, the person with the most captures, the person with the highest kill death ratio, and the person who got the nail in the coffin (last kill) would all have a chance at the best loot 1 person gets the best item (like a legendary item) based on rng between the people that got these achievements and 2 people get the next best item (rare) and the other 2 will get the next best thing (uncommon) and the people who didnt get any of these have like a 50/50 chance of getting a common or nothing, but the legendary shouldnt be available every match maybe 1 in 5 matches its up for grabs but you dont know which one Of five will give you legendary so there could be last of five and first of five to have 2 matches in a row both giving legendarys but the next 4 will have no legendary (with one exception i'll explain soon) and i believe their is only one first blood/ nail in the coffin medals up for grabs across both teams so in that if the other team gets these medals then that leaves 3 people up to get items 1 legendary 1 rare and 1 uncommon or more commonly 1 rare 1 uncommon and 1 common, now at the same time one person can have all these accomplishments in 1 game and the exception would be if one person gets all of these or at least all except first and last kill because the other team got them then that person is [b]guaranteed[/b] to get a legendary item! Its just an idea but it would work well since none of these accomplishments require you to be the best player like getting the first or last kill just by timing or having most captures with no kills highest k/d with least kills or most kills but most deaths. It would encourage players to play objectively because its not completely random and you dont just have to be in the game to get good stuff. Thanks for reading

                  • It should be somewhat skill based. Keep it random but the better you do, the better chance you get at earning a new item.
