Warlock Voidwalker Clarification!!

Ok so I am building my Warlock and I need clarification on their abilities. Energy Drain: A powerful melee attack which drains energy from enemies and uses it to reduce the cooldown of your grenade. Life Steal: Killing an enemy with Energy Drain immediately restores a significant portion of your health. The Hunger: Increases the duration of the Energy Drain effect. Embrace The Void: Damaging enemies with Nova Bomb or any grenade triggers the Energy Drain Effect. Bloom: Enemies killed by any of your abilities explode. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok so those are the abilities I would like to discuss. First off the effect of Energy Drain is not to reduce the cooldown of your grenade but is it the effect of Life Steal? Next..If Life Steal immediately restores a significant portion of your health does using the ability The Hunger make the Life Steal effect have a longer duration? Also while using Embrace The Void's effect does that mean it triggers the Life Steal effect or the cooldown of grenades as stated in Energy Drain? Last question is a random one.. If Bloom's effect activate "Enemies killed by any of your abilities explode" does it start a chain reaction with enemies close to the ones exploding?

  • I´m noit that experienced as a Voidwalker but let me try to answert these questions: 1) Life Steal and Enbergy Drain: these arte not mutually incompatible. They can work at the same time. Energy Drain speeds up your grenades, Life Steal heals you back up. Example: I´m running low on Health, and I find a little scared Dreg. I kill him, and my health replenishes. My grenade cooldown also decreases a bit. 2) As far as I´ve tested, no, Hunger affects Energy Drain only. You have to think about it this way: Life Steal works ONCE. You get a kill, you get a regeneration, but it is not extended over time. And I find this very fair, to be honest. 3) Can´t answer you on this, I haven´t used that perk yet. 4) No. With bloom, it only affects those in the immediate vicinity of the grenade explosion itself. Those affected by the secondary blast get normal damage, and not (so to speak) ability damage). This is similar to Golden Gun´s combustion. Still an amazing ability and I can´t get enough of it.

  • Energy Drain reduces the cooldown of the Super and nades faster than usual. Not that much faster but it's noticable Life Steal triggers your regen instantly. Pretty useful in pvp. Could save your life several times. The Hunger increases the portion that is returned to you instantly Embrace the Void only triggers Energy Drain, in the sense of any kills made in that time will reduce the cooldown more. Strategically a good choice as you can use the effect more often in that case. Bloom merely lets enemies explode which have been killed by your abilities. Any enemies killed by the bloom wont explode.

Extra question here. What does the hunger do for soul rip and life steal, if anything?

      • Energy Drain by itself does not have Life Steal effect. The only thing it does by itself is reduce grenade cooldown (it also does more damage than your standard melee attack that you perform when your melee is on cooldown). The Hunger therefore reduces the cooldown even further. Life Steal gives some if your health back in case of a kill (not just damage!) Embrace The Void basically makes melee, super AND grenades to reduce grenade cooldown. I think bloom does not chain react as the first explosion is already the result of your ability, not the ability itself. Besides the explosions are not usually strong enough to kill the enemy, they just damage them.

        • Warlock is amazing pence you upgrade his gliding skill he can blink (teleport) and that would be helpful of escaping an enemy or attacking one from behind.

        • Let me give you might thought/opinion. I would assume you get both perks, the life steal and the energy drain, since the life steal is a sub perk under energy drain. I would think that you only get the effect of energy drain and not its sub perk when called into effect by another skill and not the melee action. Bloom: only enemies that you kill with a bullet or grenade will probably have this effect. There may also be a cool down time associated with this unless the exploding is a very small damage radius and splash.

energy drain reduces enemy health and grenade cooldown. life steal is activated when an enemy dies so no. grenade cooldown is reduced and enemies killed by the energy drain effect, not the grenade or nava bomb, will activate life drain. and yes bloom can chain because bloom is one of your abilities, but bloom might not cause enough damage for that to happen.
