So the destiny alpha was awesome, but I found that if I tried to wander in to new areas with people they would fade away, but then people in my fire team would stay with me. But I wish that fireteams were bigger than free, so more people could wander with you. What do you guys think?

In the alpha strikes and story was limit to 3. explore and pub was limit to 3. But one person in your fire team could create his own fire team before he joined yours and bring them along. but only you would be considered part of the 3 in the fire team.
-
I'd like to see 5 in a fireteam but I'm not so sure how good that would scale with the layout and difficulty of strikes and what-not. That may make the game too easy.
-
yeah, 3 sucks. We have 4 playing, one of us is screwed if we dont split up...which will end up being less fun
-
Only things I'd like that we don't have are: 1: in game chat lobby. BUT... It gotta be done right. You need a lot of options to cater to everyone, and it has to be seemless like the rest of the game, because that's part of the charm if what Destiny is. For example, there has to be options for either auto joining or auto muting regional chat when entering an area. The game itself caters to a lot of different players and playstyles, some will want to socialize and some will not. It's important that both are catered to. The main thing though is you have to be able to play without fiddling with it constantly. Bungie went to great lengths to make this game in a way to keep you immersed in the world. Having a chat lobby that is opposite of that is counter productive to everything they created so far. 2: I kinda want a multiplayer practice area. Or some type of open world multiplayer area. I want it for no other reason than to just satisfy an urge for multiplayer with more people. There would be no need for balance, ammo drops, etc, because it's for nothing else but dumb fun.

I only have 2 friends I play with so it's fine with me

Edited by DEZARATH: 6/19/2014 6:09:29 PM3 has alway been a magical number in Limited Firefight during Reach. Everyone gets all the kills they want. When someone goes down it has more impact. Those super stars who run ahead find themselves in serious problems, while the fourth guy is left behind. I noticed teams tended to stick together. The cons. When someone AFKs it really makes a difference. Players have been conditioned to a four man team. That fourth guy is one more anchor to staying in the game if the team gets overwhelmed. Personally I like three players over four, but I'm used to playing with the extra man, so if they add another no big deal.

Raids require a 6 person fireteam.
-
I came over here from Dust, and a pretty hefty portion of the guys from my corp over there are gonna be joining Destiny. It's gonna be a good 17 people at least. I would like an increase in the team size, but I think letting people join a "clan chatroom" or something of the sort would be nice. We are a pretty tight nit group, and it would be cool to be able to shoot the sh*t between multiple fire teams in completely different gaming areas. Some folks may feel thats too much talking going on and that it could get confusing (which can be true) but it is something we are used to, and being a polite and mature group keeps noise pollution and confusion to a minimum.
-
If like the minimum to be 4. It's pretty standard to have 4 player coop nowadays. But 3 for story and raids isn't horrible. Do think you should be able to make a team of 6 for patrols. I mean you could just make two 3 man teams and run around together but it'd just be easier to make a 6 man.

Check out my vid guys if you want, you'll see what I mean about the whole thing.
-
Meh, in some cases it might be nice but it could get a little crowded at some points
-
I hear u but I think 3 is the best number for story type missions on patrols I've seen 8 other players and not including the other 2 players that are in your group but like they've been saying they want u 2 feel like your contributing 2 the fight imagine having 6 players on a story mission mainly built for 3 players then u would fly through the game and may feel like u were just along for the ride
-
I think 3 is enough, just think if you have 7-8 in a fireteam you could just walk trough everyhting it wouldnt challenging
-
Well makes sense tho 3 classes
-
That's one of the only really big complaints I have about the game so far. It'd be nice to be able to at least have 4 people on your fireteam for strikes, campaign and free roam.
-
In the alpha when u went into roster it had 6 slots for guardians in a fireteam but they must have restricted it to 3 for testing
-
In the bigger strikes you can see 7 people in a strike and in a new interview deej stated there may be more than 7, it depends on how big or hard the levels are
-
Indifferent, I am lone wolfing it.
-
I have a feeling you'll be able to have 6 people in crucible and explore modes but it'll be limited to three for some strike missions - they have mentioned before that you might be able to take more than 2 other people with you in certain strikes so it might vary :)
-
No, I think it's perfect where it's at. I don't have the PS4, so you'll have to tell me if I'm wrong about this. The only thing I want from Destiny right now is to have Public VOIP. While either in a fire-team or just by yourself, I want to be able to look upon all the peasants and let them know just how inferior they are to me. *maniacal laughter* But yeah, public VOIP for public and private spaces, I want to be able to talk to everyone, not just 2 other people.
-
It would make it to easy and less tactical
-
Angry Joe interviewed Deej and he said it could be from 6-7 I believe
