Neither are revered by me.
I respect individual people, not entire organizations who do not have to obey laws. I have seen too much police brutality and military waste to have respect for either. American police departments are also becoming increasingly militarized, and this seems to only alarm a small percentage of the population who actually have intelligence.
Edit: And that picture is from El Paso County Sheriff's Department, which is the county that I live in. I can confirm that these things drive on the streets.

Nope, no blood on my hands since all I did was fix trucks. I was a mechanic, I brought broke down vehicles into a maintenance shop, inspected them, ordered parts if I needed to, replaces parts and fixed anything wrong with the vehicle, did another inspection, filled out the work order and gave it to an NCO, let them do an inspection, and then the vehicle left. That is what I did for two years.
