I wouldn't say copy dude cuz its more like... similar. example- Gears of War has the lambent which kinda looks like the Flood from Halo you know? sci-fi games do alot of stuff like this, not really a problem anyway :)
English
-
The flood is the thing from the thing
-
by the thing you mean John Carpenter's?
-
Did he make the movie ?
-
the one about the Shape Shifting alien that these scientist guys found in the ice?
-
-
Edited by DarkBlades75: 7/4/2014 2:48:29 AMthen yes. ish. he wrote a book about it first, then they made a movie based off of it. in 1986 ish. (don't quote me on that) then many years later, they made a prequel for it. showing the events hours before the original movie took place *Edit: NOT written buy John carpenter. It was a Poem Called Who Goes there? (don't quote me on that) and then John Carpenter's is a remake based on the 1950's film which was based upon the poem.

Yep that's it. The flood is a rip off of the thing
-
well not really. Due to the fact that the Thing is an individual Shapeshifter who changes into exact replica's of people who look alive until it tries to eat them. while the flood is an infection. with multiples who don't shapeshift. just take over. and they can only have one host per infection form.
-
I see. So the gears of war thing isn't a copy of the flood then. The thing did it firsts. I throught the flood was a parasite.
-
The thing gets into people and eat them from there
-
well, its true, they both technically "eat" people. while, the Thing completely eats the person besides the false things inside the person. while the Flood Completely take over the person in question. and the Thing makes the person look alive, the Flood just flat out decompose the object in question.
-
Either way. They both are threats.
-
ya that's the only solid similarity between them *nods head slowly*
-
Besides body taking. The hive are like the flood. Their a parasite
-
Edited by DarkBlades75: 7/4/2014 3:16:21 AMtrue. they are both born from an external source, decompose the host, and change it to see fit to the Parasites liking of environments.
-
If only the hive was a parasite.
-
Meh. then Bungie would be going to close back to the Flood. it still is in a sense. like I said: it infects the Dead or Dying and changes the bodies composition and physiology to match what the parasite needs. and this is where we get the decomposed look, Out stretched Joints, and the Domed head.
-
I see. The hive are a race.
-
yes in a sense. like any parasite/virus they have a "race". and the Wizards are an Evolved Version of the Drone Hive that we see all the time. and the really big brute thing of the Hives is an infected Beast of sorts with a different Evolved Version to accommodate the different body mass. Like how different virus's affect different animals differently here in the real world.
-
True the hive are a parasite. They infected the dead humans. This is the flood all over again
-
But they don't infect
-
Ah, but we don't know that yet! for all we know, the Wizards are the ones infecting the corpses. or there's some species/class of the Hive we don't know about yet! so, the beauty of this is that we can speculate all we want until the game comes out.
