Do you accept the lore-destroying abomination that is ESO as canon to TES lore? (If you do, you're -blam!-ing retarded.)
Discuss.
-
Why shouldn't I? I haven't played the game yet btw
-
Where is the never played it or don't care option?
-
Shoddycast has a great video on this subject.
-
tfw i dont really care about the story as much as the exploration and location.
no
Edited by Delta E27: 4/13/2014 3:08:39 PMI haven't seen or read much of the actual lore yet, so I don't know. For now, I'm saying yes because of things like dragon breaks and other time/space f-ery Not to mention, I'd honestly prefer that they break canon in order to provide a good story and engaging gameplay, if it was one or the other. It might not be, but hey.
-
Lolno
-
Doesn't matter. To my knowledge they can just call a dragon break and make it an alternate timeline. correct me if I have the idea of a dragon break wrong.
-
>people on bnet talking about a game they have absolutely no idea of.
-
Well seeing as ESO is 1000 years before the events of Skyrim and is in the 2nd Era when the events of all the other games (Arena, Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall) happened in the 3rd Era and Skyrim happening in the 4th Era. The events of ESO are the prequels to all of those games. So yes, it's canon, it just breaks stuff like Star Wars Episode One did.
-
I don't really know ES canon anyway. I know a bit, but not much. So yes.
-
It is a prequel so none of it matters anyway.
-
Honestly this thread is making me want to buy the game just to find out what is so horribly lore breaking about it.
-
Did the same company that published every other elder scrolls game make it? Yes? Then it's canon.
-
It's canon regardless of its quality.
-
Well like it or not it's canon unless they denounce it as actual canon.
-
I sure as hell don't accept that ridiculous subscription fee.
-
Yes Think about it. Coldharbour is a "blood and excrement smeared mirror image of Tamriel" and where do you go at the beginning of TESO? Coldharbour. You see, no-one actually leaves coldharbour. All Bal did was a little house-cleaning to make it look more like the actual tamriel and then sat back as everyone lived through a shitty MMO for his amusement
-
Tfw I downloaded all 50gb and it wouldn't start ;-;
-
-blam!- no. Doesn't change the fact that they're gonna make it canon anyway.
-
How does it break canon? (You're talking to somebody who just plays the games)
-
Hell no
-
It's not canon, but that doesn't mean that its bad.
-
Cannon or canon?
-
This is the same shit as Fallout 3
inb4 shitstorm of Beth fanboys
-
I think it's an interpretation of the lore more than actual canon.

Edited by SweesesPieces: 4/12/2014 1:52:06 PMThe fact that you can play as any race in any faction breaks it pretty badly.
