*Disclaimer* I am throwing a disclaimer on here because what you see is real, I can't tell you for certain if anyone dies in these aircraft (There is no blood or gore), but if your disturbed by real combat footage I wouldn't watch this.
Here is some rare footage that you would never ever see, this is actual gun cam footage from Luftwaffe fighters engaging American bombers/fighters over Germany. Most of the impacts you are going to be seeing on the bombers is from 20mm-30mm cannons equipped on the German fighters, they all carried such a heavy armament to counter the heavily armored B-17's. The impacts form in the little puffs of smoke you see and the balls of "Light" are the cannon or tracer rounds which help the pilot see where his rounds are going. Obviously you aren't seeing the aircraft at all because the camera is either on the front or under it, the camera only records when the aircraft is firing its gun, hence the term "Gun Camera". There are quite a few different aircraft shown here from the FW-190 A-7 to an ME-110 heavy fighter which was one of the most numerous aircraft used in the "Defense of Germany". I am going to assume that this compilation of videos was put together for the Luftwaffe brass to study as it has a title screen in the begnning, the other screens you see afterwords inbetween gun cam footage is detailing what aircraft it is and what aircraft its engaging.
It is just extremely fascinating to watch from the other side, I mean I have read books from both sides on personal accounts of the air war over Germany, but seeing it first hand is just mystifying...
Note: I would completely ignore the description of this video and the comments, most of it is just apologist crap.
As always if you like this stuff feel free to follow me!

When they took those cameras off the planes to watch the footage back on base, they must have thought it was the coolest thing. Go-pros before Go-pros haha! Nice little slice of history here.

Comment section is full of neo godwinslaws.

Nice find OP favouriting this.

Damn those cannons... I would hate to be on the business end of that in real life (as I usually am in such a place virtually).

Whomever was doing the labeling of the films was in error. I saw 'Lightning' listed for a couple of planes, but they were not the P38 Lightning. They look more like the P47 Thunderbolt.

Cool stuff! I love military aviation history, which is part of why I love my job near the United States Air Force Museum. So many cool planes; ever been?

Bump for history.
