Anybody with tech knowledge on 360's care to help me?

Righto. So I have a 2006 Xbox 360. The standard white Core model that came without a harddrive or HDMI port. Right now I have a 250gb harddrive on it I got a few years ago to replace the 20GB one I bought with the console back in 2007. I have an Xbox One now though, and it is incredibly difficult for me to game on my 360 because it is not in HD. So I'll be getting an Xbox 360e with a 250GB harddrive. My little red, white, and yellow cables just hurt my eyes too much, now. I have an official Xbox 360 harddrive transfer cable. But the Xbox 360E has an INTERNAL 250GB harddrive, where my current one is detachable. So the question is this: Does anybody know for sure if it is possible to use this cable between an external and internal harddrive? I don't want to buy it if I'm going to lose all my data (Cloud non-withstanding). I'd really appreciate any help folks can give, since I'm sure a lot of you probably have newer 360 models than I have. Thank you!

The Xbox 360 transfer cable connects DIRECTLY to the old hard drive, but via USB to the new HDD. It shouldn't matter whether the new Xbox has an internal or an external HDD; it should all be in the same format. I would imagine that the transfer should work just fine. The product page for the transfer cable claims it works on ALL Xbox 360 consoles, so at the very least you should be able to get a refund if it doesn't work. If you're still unsure, hit up one of the @XboxSupport accounts on Twitter. I'm not sure why component cable isn't option for you, though. Component cables for Xbox 360 provide a complete HD solution. Is it because you're daisy-chaining your 360 through your Xbox One? If so, another option might be to purchase a component-to-HDMI converter. Might be a little cheaper than getting a brand new 360 if getting HDMI is the only reason for the new purchase.

        • You could use a USB to transfer stuff.

I was able to do it with my Elite, and my H4 slim. It also worked with the 360 external to another 360 external. ( Elite to H3 360....I've had a lot of problems with RROD and DD failures ) I think there are specific steps for the newer 360s, but as long as you have the official Xbox cable, it should work fine. Not sure it that helps, but figured I'd throw the info out there anyway.
