James Holmes. Your opinion on his punishment.

Lets keep this a clean discussion, although what this guy did was terrible. Documentary about the events of the day and wondered about what other people besides myself think on what they think would be appropriate punishment.

 •
Posted by: MrR46
Posted by: tha man Oh wait you're right! Kill someone swiftly! Not torture someone for years without communication of the outside world and deprive them of their freedom!
Uh, yeah. Torture's unnecessary and helps no one.
When you kill someone this insane, he probably wants to die. Give him the opposite of what he wants, no rights, no freedom, no social experiences forever.
I don't care what he wants. An eternity of decomposing in a cemetery is the most severe punishment available. Give it to him and put this all in the past.
LOL trying to bring up the taxpayer.
Why the hell should taxpayers bankroll some loopy, unnecessary form of punishment just to satisfy the general public's bloodlust?
I meant torture mentally. I don't believe in the idea of killing. What makes you the arbiter of who deserves to die or not. What if James Holmes was related to you? What if he was your brother? Would you be willing to kill someone you loved? No. It's wrong to take a person's life regardless. No man should dictate when it is someone's turn to die. If you support his execution would it make a difference in the world or in this country? No. It will not and it hasn't. You want to focus your anger on a mentally sick man rather then stricter regulation/rules on guns or security for stores then you evade the problem. Death is no severe punishment. Especially if it's court ordered. There is no fear of death, he wants it. His death would be and have to legally be quick and "usual". Having him in a padded cell would make him regret his action, it would haunt him forever what he did. Like I said, people who bring up taxes, it's just dumb to debate.
Why the hell should taxpayers bankroll some loopy, unnecessary form of punishment just to satisfy the general public's bloodlust?
This statement makes no sense. Didn't you advocate for his death? Aren't you advocating for bloodlust? I wasn't. Let him rot. That's not a bloodlust to let someone be forever alone in prison. Do you know it's expensive as hell to have someone on death row? Do you know how expensive it is every time the chair is activated? You want to complain about how your mom and dad's tax money is going to prisoners? Do something about it. Advocate for heavier regulation on things like guns, ensure stores have better security, advocate for people to have more mental check ups to ensure nuts like Holmes don't exist.
