That they've conjured a new plan to screw what older-time community members they have left?
Yawn. What a ridiculous mentality. So productive!!

Do you have any sustenance of an argument to my points whatsoever? Where I'm standing, I feel like your vocabulary is limited to a few words and I'm wasting my time trying to entertain you. Or did you miss the point of this thread entirely?
-
No thank you. I'm not the one claiming.
-
Edited by Edmi Wohusee: 9/17/2013 10:41:11 PMNo, but you have been arguing against me this whole time. Apparently you're making some sort of claim I'm wrong somehow. And what do you mean by, "No thank you"? No to my asking if you had an sustenance of an argument or "No," you missed the point of the thread.

I'm asking for proof.
A Bungie employee commented on a thread specifically asking for moderation tools by saying that they're (supposedly) working on it.
and? You're mad that you ran so hard with one comment, filled it with your own assumptions and that the private groups aren't what you think they should be, in the timeframe you deem worthy? What do I win?

Edited by Edmi Wohusee: 9/17/2013 11:32:34 PMWhat the hell are you on about? I'm assuming they're (hopefully, maybe not, oh well) going to follow up with what they said they would do, which was giving us updated, fixed, done-something-with moderation tools. I seriously don't know why you think you won a prize for being stupid, again.

They didn't give a list if specific items. Sure they replied to one, but you are assuming a bit there. They absolutely didn't give a time frame. In fact they gave the sarcastically nonspecific "soon™". Now actually, I believe groups will get plenty of overhaul. The message has been pretty clear. Folks aren't pleased. But keep on mind, we pay nothing for this. It is provided free of charge by our gracious hosts. We don't see their priority list. Trying to recreate an old system on the new may be behind quite a number of things.
"soon™"
HOW CAN I ADD^TM?

It's the Emoji keyboard on the iPhone app.
They didn't give a list if specific items. Sure they replied to one, but you are assuming a bit there.
There's a difference between uneducated assumptions and educated assumptions. They never came out and gave points what exactly they're working on; that's largely evident. They did tell someone they were working on what the author suggested. That's quite a large amount of evidence. If I ask a waiter for a hamburger, and they say it's coming out soon, I'm going to believe I'll be getting a hamburger soon. Which leads me to another thing:
soon
That's the entire purpose of this thread and I feel like you're missing it. I strongly believe private groups are being treated unfairly. They're community members whom many has been loyal to Bungie for quite a long time. They deserve more than a soon. At least an explanation of the process, and an estimated completion time (with all of us fully aware that it may be subject to change).
But keep on mind, we pay nothing for this. It is provided free of charge by our gracious hosts.
I don't see how this is relevant. I am incredibly gracious. You have no idea how much it killed me to make this thread. I feel awful, but at the same time, I feel like it's necessary. Private... groupians shouldn't be treated as second-class citizens.

Well I think there's some assumptions on your part. Clearly there are some opportunities with groups as the opinion is shared by many. But I'd like to point out that this site is still a work in progress. Its purpose is to be a companion to a game that is not complete yet. When the game is released, I imagine things will look different,
Its purpose is to be a companion to a game that is not complete yet.
I sure hope that doesn't mean us non-Destiny players get shafted.
-
I wouldn't expect to be shafted, but being a "non Destiny player" will probably feel like sitting in the car while the party is going on inside the house.

Edited by Ric_Adbur: 9/17/2013 8:54:23 PMThat's a pretty surprising and unfortunate attitude on Bungie's part toward community members that have been hanging around here for many years. I would have thought you'd be interested in retaining those sorts of people, but everything about Bungie's strategy since Bnext was released seems to suggest that you are more interested in obtaining new people, even at the expense of the old. Very sad. I seriously doubt there would have been any kind of significant community on this site by the time Destiny rolled around if there hadn't been a pre-existing "culture" here that was able to sustain itself independent of any particular games. Such a culture isn't something that can be manufactured or forced, it grows naturally over the course of many years. Yet now it appears that Bungie is wholly uninterested in preserving that precious and difficult to replace commodity. Seems like a significant error in judgement to me. Once it's gone, it's gone.
-
I don't want to see Bungie disrespect anyone. And I certainly don't want to see anyone feel excluded. But I'm curious how someone hangs around that is disinterested in the incredibly ambitious upcoming project.
