Bungie lying about release date for HALO 2?
First of all I know that your only supposed to trust release dates from Bungie, but in looking for a exact release date I was only able to find release dates from eb games and gamestop that had it for release on 9/1/2004. I'm pissed because we al loyal fan deserve a release date witch would be a couple of numbers that usually show the month/day/year, all we as loyal fans have receive is a time of year or the season the game is coming out, that pisses me off alot. I have a game reserve from 12-29-02 the paper is starting to yellow and Museums are calling me to display it. I want to know why we where lyed too, why not just say you still don't know yourselves instead of just saying it's coming out in the fall of 2004, that is a release season not a date. I am really waiting for this game in fact I have a two week vacation planned that I might have to cancel if the game doen't go gold atleast a week before the release date given by ebgames. Know matter how pissed of I sound in this message I still will be buying 4 copies when it comes out if it ever does but would be really happy if Bungie stops acting like Condoleeza Rice or George W. Bush at a Senate hearing.
Please if not a release date just give use the month it is coming out I would be pleased with that.

Bungie is not lying about the release date of Halo 2. It will come out this fall.

They never claimed that they were going to tell you the day it's going to be released. They gave you an estimate. They still haven't given you a date, just as they haven't done on any of their games for many years past. I just don't see how you can construe this into meaning that Bungie lied about a release date. They still don't know the release date. It hasn't been set. They know a time period, so they're giving you that. But during the production of a game, Bungie does not give out specific release dates. That's how it goes.

I NEVER heard bungie say any numbers with a release date, besides the year, 2004, other than that I have only heard Months, and not dates. And why does it matter when its released. I mean nontheless people will buy it whenever it comes out, and its not the end of the world if it doesn't until christmas.

But like you said, that's not a date. That's an estimate, a 3 month period. They still haven't released a release date, far before it was done, just like on every project after Marathon. My question, which may or may not confirm my retardedness, is when did they ever [i]claim[/i] that they were going to tell you a release date? That's the real issue here.

Well if you are paying close attendtion... They had a "date" posted a while back as "the first quarter of 2004". Also, HALO I was less than they wanted it to be because of M$! At least this time they are able to take time and make it the way they want it. And a date is a date! Hell, I think they should remove the fall all together. Maybe say sometime in 2004 or 2005.
