Alligator: Bane of Floridians, or Local Hero? YOU DECIDE. JK It' hero.
To some, a St. Petersburg alligator might be a hero after she attacked a fleeing suspect Thursday morning, according to 10News.com. 20-year old Bryan Zuniga, burst out of his car and ran on foot after Pinellas County deputies pulled him over for not staying in one lane. As he was attempting to escape Thursday, he found himself near a water treatment plant in St. Petersburg, Florida. Before he knew it an alligator was attempting to turn Zuniga into its latest meal. The injuries he suffered—puncture wounds on his face, armpit and arm—forced him to go the hospital. Upon being released, Zuniga went right from a hospital bed into custody. He was charged with breaking fences, fleeing, resisting arrest without violence and driving with a suspended license. His neighbors spoke to WFTS in Tampa. It seemed as if many of them were not fans of Zuniga. "Karma! Karma comes back at you," one neighbor said. "When you do trouble, trouble comes to you." Another added Zuniga’s nickname around the neighborhood was “the little punk.” Many believed he acted shady and suspicious around the neighborhood. However, Zuniga’s parents said their son is a good kid and only has some scratches. According to Carey Brodrick, the alligator was only protecting the eggs she recently laid. Zuniga is being held on approximately $6,500 bond and was scheduled to be in court Friday morning.
In the Alligators defense, he was a criminal and she was only defending her nest.
